- Scheduling new and established participants.
- Answers the telephones by the third ring in a friendly, professional manner.
- Monitors and handles all participant assessment and continuous care appointments.
- Assists with coordination of day\-to\-day front office check\-in operations to ensure exceptional patient data.
- Assists with chart preparation, checking out patients and schedules future appointments as ordered.
- Uses customer service principles and techniques to deal with patients, physicians and medical office staff calmly and pleasantly.
- Ensuring participants are aware of upcoming appointments and are reminded on a regular basis to ensure appointments are kept or rescheduled in a timely manner.
- Identifying issues that may prevent a participant from attending scheduled appointments; and communicating solutions to management and participant.
- Reviewing schedule and identifying challenges and developing a plan for resolution.
- Pulling files, determining multi\-level scheduling needs for maximum participant engagement and satisfaction.
- Collaborates with Referral Coordinators in performing similar duties or coverage as assigned by Scheduling Manager.
- Ensuring necessary equipment or supplies are available for participants scheduled appointments.
- Demonstrates an understanding of participant confidentiality and rights to protect the participant and PACE organization
- Thorough knowledge of current concepts and practices of health and social services to the elderly, particularly of home\- and community\-based services within an interdisciplinary team facilitation model.
- Knowledgeable as an advocate for risk\-based long\-term care programs, specifically the PACE model.
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with staff, elderly, public and private agencies, governmental officials, providers of services, and peers.

- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, in\-services, projects, and committees as assigned.

- Involves sitting approximately 80 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
- Some bending, stooping, and must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

- Work is generally performed in an indoor, well\-lighted, well\-ventilated, heated, and air\-conditioned environment.
- Daily and repetitive data entry requiring proper ergonomic techniques.

Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Scheduling Manager, the Clinic Scheduler is responsible for handling all participant appointments within the PACE program. This individual will serve as a liaison between participant and medical staff. Clinic Scheduler is responsible for greeting and directing patients, checking patients in and out, answering the telephone, data entry of patient demographic information and other administrative duties in support of the scheduling department operations.

Experience
Minimum two years of experience in an appointment scheduling position, preferably in a medical office setting.
Minimum of one (1\) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Education and Certification
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduation from a medical office assistant training program is preferred. Core Values
