Overview
We are seeking a detail\-oriented and organized Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and providing administrative support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and experience with various accounting software. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of our organization while supporting day\-to\-day administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records through bookkeeping and accounting practices.
- Prepare and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Manage journal entries, debits, credits, and general ledger accounting.
- Conduct account analysis and maintain accurate records of transactions.
- Support budgeting processes by providing necessary financial data.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, or other relevant tools for efficient record keeping.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) in all financial reporting.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including filing, data entry, and correspondence.
- Assist with HR related matters like creating employee files and onboarding.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero).
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting, non\-profit accounting, governmental accounting, and public accounting principles.
- Knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping and account reconciliation.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
- Ability to prepare financial report writing with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with tax experience related to bookkeeping practices is a plus.
- Excellent 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
