- Provide administrative assistance to the Director in the execution of assigned projects, ensuring their successful completion. Assist in scheduling meetings.
- Provide general office support including answering phones, distributing incoming and outgoing mail, processing travel and registration, maintain office inventory, ordering office supplies, and coordinating the HR/Risk conference room schedule.
- Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Communicate and interface with employees and visitors regarding general HR and Risk management programs. Interpret and apply human resources and risk management policies, practices, and principles.
- Design and develop employee communications for distribution county wide, social media content and employee informational flyers and documents. Maintain department webpage. Update and develop content as needed and in support of program needs.
- Process Accounts Payable and Prepare weekly expenditure detail and summary reports for Director as needed for the Human Resources and Risk Management Department.
- Maintain employee files and update employee records as necessary. Maintain an organized and efficient filing system for all HR and risk management documents, both in physical and digital formats, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance with retention policies. Responsible for the filing of paper documents.
- Serve as the HR/Risk contact for public records requests As the assigned Public Records Specialist. Coordinate public records within the office to provide responsive records back to Public Records.
- Participate in planning and implementation of current and future software conversions and updates affecting HR and Risk.
- Schedule and assist in conducting New Employee Orientation and Onboarding presentations. Prepares and maintains Orientation binders for new hires.
- Maintain binders for union related records and contracts and provides administrative support for the Civil Service Commission.
- Work in HRIS system to approve department’s requisitions, create job postings and post them to the county website. Collaborate with hiring managers to create job postings, and conditional job offers. Prepare job announcements, screen applications, and perform full\-cycle recruitment processes for a variety of positions. Gather and review all required documents and forms from job applicants, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Initiate pre\-employment background checks and screenings for applicants, coordinating with Civil Investigator and third\-party agencies as necessary. Maintain thorough and organized records of all pre\-employment background activities.
- Coordinate employee recognition programs.
- Assist in the intake of risk related claims and forms. Ensure forms have been completed appropriately and have all required information.
- Maintain workers compensation injury files, creates new files for incoming incidents, and maintains and updates corresponding tracking spreadsheets according to regulations and requirements.

- Assign County required annual training to employees and monitor completion to ensure the organization's compliance with safety regulations and internal policies.

- High school diploma or equivalent, with some college or technical school course work in related field and minimum of three years of job\-related experience, preferably in a human resource department; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Experience working in public sector environment preferred.
- Marketing, social media and/or content creation experience highly desired.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources, Recruitment, Training, Risk Management, or related/similar programs.
- Experience work with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS), preferably Tyler Technologies (Eden and/or Munis), NEOGOV or other related software systems.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Clallam County is seeking a customer\-focused and detail\-oriented professional to join our team as a Human Resources and Risk Management Assistant. This position provides day\-to\-day administrative and program support to the Human Resources and Risk Management office and serves as the first point of contact for employees, managers, and members of the public. The HR/RM Assistant answers general questions related to HR and Risk programs and supports activities such as recruitment, onboarding, training, employee recognition, communications, claims intake and processing, drug and alcohol testing, safety programs, and record keeping. Working independently under the supervision of the Director or designee, this role plays a vital part in maintaining efficient operations while delivering excellent customer service and supporting employee engagement across the organization. The position also requires strong technical skills and the ability to effectively utilize Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) to manage administrative and compliance\-related responsibilities.
