Biomedical Field Service Technician — Sterilization \& Surgical Systems =========================================================================== Picture this: You start your day from home, coffee in hand, routing to a leading hospital in your California territory. By mid\-morning you’re inside a sterile processing department, methodically diagnosing a washer\-disinfector. After lunch, you’re calibrating a sterilizer, documenting each step on your mobile app to meet regulatory requirements. Before heading home, you brief the Customer on repair options and pricing, then sync with a Sales colleague to flag a potential upgrade opportunity. That’s a day in the life with STERIS. At STERIS, we empower hospitals and life science organizations to protect patients and caregivers through innovative products and services delivered worldwide. As a remote, Customer\-facing technician, you’ll keep critical medical equipment running reliably—often inside hospital environments—so care teams can focus on what matters most. Use advanced digital tools to complete compliance\-related tasks and thoroughly document troubleshooting steps and outcomes. Explain findings clearly to Customers, provide repair options and pricing, and—backed by management—partner with Sales to enhance Customer experience and identify revenue opportunities. Travel within the territory to support multiple sites based on service agreements and demand. What makes you successful ----------------------------- High School Diploma or GED and 4\+ years of work experience, including at least 2 years in a mechanical/technical role. An associate degree, relevant certifications, competitive equipment training, or related military experience may count toward the technical experience requirement. Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet all required background and physical assessment elements for new and existing vendor credentialing. Customer\-centric mindset with experience collaborating across teams. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Comfort with technology: Windows/email, navigation tools, mobile apps, and data entry across multiple systems. Schedule flexibility, including potential overnight travel and early/late hours to meet Customer needs. Your background could include --------------------------------- HVAC, refrigeration, boilers/chillers, general maintenance, diesel and automotive repair, aviation maintenance, plumbing, or electrical—many with these paths excel here. Rewards and resources ------------------------- Market competitive pay Extensive paid time off plus 9 additional holidays Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Company vehicle Company cell phone and laptop All tools, equipment, and uniforms provided Short\- and long\-term disability coverage 401(k) with company match Maternity and paternal leave Additional voluntary perks, including pet insurance discounts Tuition reimbursement and continuing education programs Strong advancement potential and a stable long\-term career path Join STERIS and keep critical hospital equipment ready when lives depend on it.
