Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated, organized, and detail\-oriented Bilingual Immigration Paralegal to join our growing legal practice. The successful candidate will assist with managing immigration matters, preparing filings, communicating with clients, and ensuring that all cases remain organized and compliant with applicable deadlines and procedural requirements. The practice primarily handles immigration matters, although the position will also involve some criminal\-defense work and administrative support. This is a flexible hybrid position offering approximately 20–45 hours per week. Regular daily attendance in the office is not required, provided that assigned work is completed accurately, deadlines are met, and the employee remains responsive and available when needed. The ideal candidate will be proactive, dependable, technologically proficient, and capable of working independently without constant supervision. Responsibilities Assist with preparing and filing immigration petitions, applications, motions, briefs, and supporting documentation Prepare filings for matters before USCIS, EOIR, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and other government agencies Assist with asylum applications, family\-based petitions, adjustment\-of\-status applications, employment authorization applications, and removal\-defense matters Draft affidavits, declarations, cover letters, client correspondence, and other legal documents Gather, review, label, and organize supporting evidence and client documentation Communicate with clients in English and Spanish to obtain information, request documents, provide case updates, and explain filing requirements Maintain complete and accurate electronic case files Monitor filing deadlines, court hearings, biometrics appointments, interviews, and requests for evidence Prepare and submit electronic filings through EOIR ECAS and applicable USCIS systems Proofread filings for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with procedural requirements Conduct legal and factual research relating to immigration and criminal matters Assist with criminal\-defense files, court scheduling, discovery organization, client communication, and related administrative tasks Communicate professionally with clients, courts, government agencies, opposing counsel, interpreters, and other parties Work independently in a hybrid or remote environment while remaining responsive to the attorney and clients Provide additional legal and administrative support as needed Requirements Fluency in both English and Spanish is required Previous immigration paralegal or immigration legal\-assistant experience is strongly preferred Working knowledge of Docketwise and Smokeball is strongly preferred Familiarity with EOIR ECAS, USCIS online filing systems, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, electronic document management, and legal calendaring systems Familiarity with immigration forms, filing requirements, and court procedures Criminal\-defense experience or a willingness to assist with criminal matters Strong legal writing, proofreading, document\-preparation, and data\-entry skills Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines without constant supervision Ability to work remotely while maintaining productivity, responsiveness, and confidentiality Strong client\-service skills and the ability to communicate patiently and professionally Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information discreetly Dependability, sound judgment, professionalism, and a willingness to learn This paid position offers approximately 20–45 hours per week. The schedule and work location are flexible, and a substantial portion of the work may be completed remotely. Performance will be evaluated primarily based on the quality and timely completion of assigned work, responsiveness, and the proper management of cases and deadlines.
