Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. Duties Greet patients warmly, check them in and out, and manage appointment scheduling using dental office management software. Assist dental providers during procedures by preparing instruments, ensuring clinical confidentiality policies are maintained, and supporting patient comfort. Verify patient insurance coverage, explain treatment plans, and collect payments or co\-pays accurately. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including documentation review, coding (CPT, ICD\-9, ICD\-10\), and billing processes aligned with HIPAA regulations. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for efficient documentation and data entry. Handle phone communication with professionalism, providing excellent customer service while scheduling appointments or answering inquiries. Perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining medical records with precision. Support medical billing processes through knowledge of Medicare, health insurance policies, ICD coding, and medical collection procedures. Ensure compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards at all times. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth clinic operations and deliver outstanding patient service. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar clinical support role within a dental or medical setting. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with electronic health records management is preferred. Excellent customer service skills combined with phone etiquette and professional communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for administrative tasks including typing and filing. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD\-9/10 coding standards, and medical billing procedures. Experience with health insurance processing including Medicare and other payers is highly desirable. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and office management duties. Clinic experience in a fast\-paced environment is preferred; familiarity with dental office workflows is highly advantageous. Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure patient privacy at all times. Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) Required.
