CAREER OPPORTUNITY Financial Analyst Retail Natural Gas \& Electricity COMPANY Northeast Power, LLC EMPLOYMENT Full\-Time EXPERIENCE 3\-4 Years Preferred Position Summary Northeast Power, LLC is seeking a Financial Analyst with experience in the retail energy industry, including natural gas and electricity. The ideal candidate will have three to four years of relevant experience and a working knowledge of Northeast energy markets, utility operations, customer billing, commodity costs, and retail energy margins. This position will support financial reporting, forecasting, profitability analysis, accounting, and management decision\-making. The Financial Analyst will work closely with finance, accounting, operations, sales, pricing, supply, and executive leadership. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly financial reports, forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses. Analyze revenue, commodity costs, gross margin, operating expenses, and customer profitability. Track financial performance by commodity, utility, market, customer class, product, and sales channel. Develop customer\- and contract\-level profitability analyses. Monitor retail natural gas and electricity volumes, usage, pricing, and margins. Assist with cash\-flow forecasting, working\-capital planning, and liquidity reporting. Review supplier invoices, utility data, settlement reports, and customer billing information. Reconcile billed and unbilled revenue, commodity costs, accounts receivable, commissions, and other financial accounts. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing procedures. Prepare journal\-entry support, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial schedules. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable reporting, including aging, collections, bad\-debt exposure, and vendor payments. Review broker and consultant commissions for accuracy and contract compliance. Analyze actual customer usage against forecasts, nominations, hedges, and supply costs. Identify margin leakage, billing discrepancies, operational inefficiencies, and unusual financial activity. Assist with annual audits, tax preparation, regulatory reporting, and requests from lenders, suppliers, and other business partners. Maintain financial models, reporting tools, dashboards, and supporting documentation. Develop and track key performance indicators for financial and operational performance. Support management with due diligence, strategic planning, acquisitions, financing activities, and special projects. Help develop and document financial controls, accounting procedures, and standard operating procedures. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field. Three to four years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or finance, preferably within the retail energy industry. Experience with retail natural gas, electricity, energy supply, utilities, or energy\-service companies. Familiarity with Northeast energy markets, including NYISO, ISO New England, and PJM, is preferred. Understanding of retail energy billing, commodity settlements, customer usage, load forecasting, gross\-margin analysis, and broker commissions. Working knowledge of accrual accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, financial statements, and month\-end closing procedures. Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, financial models, and large\-data analysis. Experience with accounting, CRM, billing, contract\-management, business\-intelligence, or energy\-management systems is beneficial. Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and close attention to detail. Ability to identify discrepancies, explain financial results, and communicate findings clearly. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across departments in a fast\-paced environment. High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial and customer information.
