Destiny's Group Home, Inc. Position: Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Certified Medication Technician. Shifts Available: Saturday \& Sunday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM Job Type: Full\-time. Locations: Windsor Mill, MD The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing compassionate and individualized care to adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. As a Certified Medication Technician, the DSP is also responsible for administering medications accurately and supporting individuals in meeting their health and personal goals in alignment with Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) standards. This position play a vital role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment for individuals while ensuring high\-quality, person\-centered care. Reports To: The Residential Coordinator. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Valid Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification through Maryland Board of Nursing. CPR and First Aid Certification. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Preferred but not required. Valid driver’s license with no more than 2 points. Proficient in basic computer skills (email, documentation, Microsoft Office). Must pass a criminal background check. Completion of required agency and DDA trainings. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable and punctual; must be able to attend scheduled shifts. Comfort working in an environment that may include individuals with intellectual disabilities, behavioral challenges, or mental health conditions Willingness to receive supervision and feedback. De\-escalation, crisis response, and behavior support skills (MANDT certification preferred). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Individual Support \& Supervision Provide nurturing, attentive care and direct supervision of individuals. Support with personal care, hygiene, meals, daily routines, and community engagement. Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Maintain awareness of individuals’ whereabouts and well\-being during the shift. Assist in skill\-building, socialization, and recreational activities. Follow daily schedules and support adjustments based on individual needs. Medical \& Health Responsibilities Accurately administer medications under delegation from the agency nurse. Monitor individuals for medication side effects and report concerns. Assist with transportation and accompaniment to medical, dental, or mental health appointments. Follow up on physician’s orders, prescriptions, and healthcare documentation. Support clients during medical emergencies or urgent care visits. Behavioral and Emotional Support Utilize approved behavior support strategies and de\-escalation techniques. Provide feedback to individuals that is respectful, timely, and developmentally appropriate. Model healthy, respectful communication and therapeutic relationships. Facilitate or assist with group activities and teach coping, self\-help, and social skills. Document and report any behavioral incidents in a timely manner Teamwork and Communication Participate in shift handoffs and maintain accurate communication logs. Attend team meetings and trainings when scheduled. Collaborate with residential team members to ensure continuity of care. Communicate relevant concerns and updates to supervisors and clinical team Documentation Complete all required documentation accurately and timely. Write daily progress notes and incident reports according to agency standards. Maintain confidentiality and professional language in all records. Additional Requirements: Employment eligibility verification. Updated vaccinations as required by the agency. Ability to lift 25\+ pounds and support individuals during transfers if needed. Willingness to work at different residential locations based on program needs. Completion of required training prior to working independently, including: Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation. Communicable Disease Training. Blood Borne Pathogens. Rights of Individuals. Person\-Centered Planning. Community Integration and Inclusion. MANDT Crisis Training.
