Job Summary:
Looking for friendly, service‑oriented team members who love helping people! Join Spring Hill Imaging (SHIC), part of Vanderbilt Imaging Services, as a Scheduler / Patient Services Specialist (PSS) and play a key role in delivering a positive patient experience from first contact through appointment completion.
SHIC is a fast‑paced imaging center with high call volumes, requiring team members who are comfortable managing multiple tasks at once while maintaining exceptional customer service. In this hybrid role, you will support patients by scheduling diagnostic imaging appointments including MRIs, CT scans, Mammograms, and Ultrasounds while also assisting with patient service functions such as documentation support, registration coordination, and communication with clinical teams.
Scheduling is completed via phone, electronic medical record messaging, and direct patient texting through an approved application.
Flexible shift options are available: Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday, 8‑hour days. Please include your preferred schedule in your application. Based on operational needs, team members may be asked to work flexible hours and/or provide coverage at other imaging centers.
Prior customer service experience and strong computer skills are required. The ability to work efficiently in a high‑volume, multitasking environment is essential. Healthcare or medical office experience is preferred, and Cerner EMR experience is a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule patient appointments for diagnostic imaging by phone, electronic medical record messaging, and direct patient texting via an approved application.
- Manage high volumes of incoming and outgoing calls while providing professional, courteous, and efficient service.
- Schedule patients across multiple work queues and maintain accurate logs of calls made and actions taken.
- Utilize manual and computerized scheduling systems to align patient preferences with appointment availability in terms of location, date, and time.
- Maintain accurate and complete scheduling records to support clinic operations and patient flow analysis.
- Update cancellations, reschedules, and appointment additions in real time.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, clinicians, and operational staff regarding scheduling needs, patient concerns, or system issues.
- Apply strong multitasking and prioritization skills in a fast‑paced environment to manage competing demands.
- Support Patient Services functions as needed, including coordination with front‑end teams and documentation accuracy.
- Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and teamwork while supporting operational needs, including potential coverage at other imaging locations.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of patient care and clinic operations.
