Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Assist the dental team during procedures by preparing instruments, taking digital radiographs, and maintaining sterilization protocols
- Verify insurance benefits, process claims, and handle medical billing using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth to ensure accurate reimbursement
- Review medical records and documentation for completeness and accuracy, including CPT coding, ICD\-10/ICD\-9 codes, and care plan documentation
- Manage multi\-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, answer patient inquiries, and coordinate appointment scheduling with precision
- Maintain organized dental records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and information security
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing electronic health records (EHR systems) including eClinicalWorks or similar platforms
- Proven experience in dental office settings or clinics with strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in medical collection processes, insurance verification, and medical coding including CPT, ICD\-10/ICD\-9 coding standards
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Meditech, Epic or Athenahealth to streamline documentation review and patient record management
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing) for efficient administrative support
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively on multi\-line phone systems and demonstrate professional phone etiquette
- Ability to handle medical administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling, insurance processing, and health information management confidently
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient confidentiality at all times
- Experience in dental clinic operations or hospital settings is a plus for understanding complex healthcare workflows
