  • Hours: 8hr shift

  • Rotating Hours
  • 7:00am \- 3:30pm
  • 3:00pm \- 11:30pm
  • 11:00pm\-7:30am
  • Every other weekend
  • Position Objective

    The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) assists nursing staff in providing patient care, to include procedures that monitor body functions, transportation and movement of patients, set\-up and maintenance of equipment, medical and surgical prep procedures and maintaining sanitary and neat conditions.

    Essential Responsibilities

  • Attend to the individual needs of the patient which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feedings, toileting, transferring, communication, or other needs
  • Perform skills which include observation and documentation of glucometer checks, vital signs and Intake \& Outtake into appropriate record keeping systems
  • Lift, move, and transport patients using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention
  • Answer patient call lights promptly and courteously
  • Use infection prevention measures to prevent the spread of infection in and around the healthcare facility
  • Other Responsibilities

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner
  • Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment
  • Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures
  • Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department
  • Foster respectful working relationships with professional colleagues, patients, families, and general public regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, race, socioeconomic class, or ability
  • Required Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the hospital setting
  • Prior experience in a nursing home setting
  • Completed the Certified Nursing Assistant course or equivalent
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to assist in providing a safe and friendly environment
  • Skill in observing patients for changes in conditions or behavior and promptly reporting changes to appropriate personnel
  • Ability to maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of patients in the delivery of services to them
  • Ability to interact with patients in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a carding environment
