Overview
We are seeking a detail\-oriented and highly organized probate and estate planning paralegal or legal assistant to join our small, busy, family\-run Clearwater law office. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in estate planning, probate, and trust administration. Paralegal degree and Notary Public commission are a plus. This role requires excellent writing and organizational skills to support attorneys in managing cases effectively and efficiently, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with clients, and a willingness to learn and to step in to help the team wherever needed. This is an in\- person position, with hours being Monday through Friday 8am\-5pm.
Duties
- Draft legal documents, fee agreements, and correspondence while ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
- Manage case files, including maintaining organization and accessibility of all materials.
- Prepare estate planning documents for signing and greet clients for signing appointments.
- Speak with clients to gather pertinent information for cases.
- Manage scheduling for attorneys.
- Prepare invoices and billing correspondence.
- Support probate administration processes by preparing exhibits, e\-filing pleadings, and calendaring due dates for court filings.
- Collaborate with attorneys on project management tasks to ensure timely completion of legal projects.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while adhering to ethical standards in all interactions.
- Proven paralegal experience in estate planning and probate is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft OneDrive, Zoom, and all Microsoft office applications, as well as Wordperfect for estate planning documents.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to proofread and edit documents effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in data entry, clerical duties, and administrative support within a law office setting.
- Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and colleagues.
