Overview
We are a disciplined, detail\-driven real estate management group seeking a Bookkeeper / Property Management Coordinator to join our team full\-time in\-office in Manhattan.
This is not a passive or siloed role. You will be responsible for maintaining clean, accurate books while also supporting the day\-to\-day operations of a modern, professionally managed residential building.
The right candidate is organized, responsive, and takes ownership—someone who keeps things current without being chased and handles issues directly and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting \& Financial Operations
- Manage day\-to\-day bookkeeping using QuickBooks
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations (monthly, without backlog)
- Maintain accurate general ledger (journal entries, debits/credits)
- Process accounts payable (vendor invoices, approvals, payments)
- Assist with payroll processing
- Keep financial records clean, current, and audit\-ready at all times
- Respond to tenant inquiries in a clear, professional, and timely manner
- Coordinate with vendors (maintenance, utilities, inspections, etc.)
- Track and follow up on operational items so nothing falls through the cracks
- Support the day\-to\-day operations of a high\-functioning residential property
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (required)
- Strong understanding of double\-entry bookkeeping and core accounting principles
- Experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger management
- Prior experience in real estate or property management preferred
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Professional, composed communicator (written and verbal)
- Someone who keeps clean books in real time—not weeks behind
- A reliable operator who follows through without reminders
- Comfortable working full\-time in\-office with consistent hours
- Able to handle tenant and vendor communication without escalation
- Takes pride in being accurate, responsive, and accountable
