ACCOUNTANT/FINANCIAL MANAGER

What Does PTP Do?
PTP is a dynamic company that provides various therapy services, such as Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy, to the birth\-to\-three population throughout 9 counties in Western Pennsylvania as part of the government\-funded Early Intervention program. PTP has been providing high\-quality and compassionate therapeutic services to children in Western Pennsylvania for 25 years and is one of the largest Early Intervention providers in Western Pennsylvania. PTP is committed to helping each child reach his or her maximum potential and supports the families and caregivers in teaching them what they can do to practice skills during their daily routines.
Position Summary
The Accountant/Financial Manager manages and conducts all of the financial responsibilities for PTP and works closely with the President of PTP, the fiscal departments of all counties, auditors/external PTP accountants, and financial institutions.
The Accountant/Financial Manager manages the finances for PTP, including accounting, investments, payroll, and treasury in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
The Accountant/Financial Manager utilizes proper internal controls to manage funding, county and therapist contracts, policies/procedures, and safeguards assets.
The Accountant/Financial Manager must have a strong background in accounting, overall financial management, and a high level of comfort with the utilization of fiscal software systems.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare information for annual in\-depth independent audit and work closely with auditors
- Maintain the balance statement
- Prepare and manage all annual county contracts as well as all annual therapist independent contract agreements
- Prepare annual 1099s for independent contracting therapists and all annual tax documentation for salaried office employees
- Manage payroll activity and generate direct deposit payments
- Manage salaried employee benefits, such as sick and vacation days
- Work with the financial planner regarding employee benefits
- Enter billing from therapists and accounting for county and state payments for services
- Responsible for accounting for cash flow and management
- Forecast and strategic analysis to plan for future budgets and for decision\-making on spending
- Determine cost allocations
- Maintain proper and ethical internal controls
- Responsible for accounting – AP, AR, and Monthly Close General Ledger
- Manage investments for salaried office employees
- Maintain financial statements
- Work closely with other staff members who help with data entry and billing submission
- Management of applicable tax reporting and quarterly payments
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
