General Statement of Duties:
The Undergraduate Admissions Counselor identifies, recruits, and contributes to increasing the population of admitted and enrolled undergraduate students (freshmen and transfer) and is responsible for program development and implementation. The Counselor must be familiar with successful recruitment practices and must have a naturally enthusiastic and persuasive manner to recruit and convert undergraduate students to enroll at Webster University. Additional responsibility for this position will include admissions\-related file processing and supporting the admissions operations to increase undergraduate students at Webster USA campuses. This position reports to the Associate Director, Admissions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities\*
Recruitment/Territory Management \- 35%
Recruits new freshmen and/or transfer students to Webster University and assists with recruiting plans and events both on and off campus.
Manages an assigned geographic territory and travels to high schools, community colleges, community\-based organizations; attend college fairs and conduct special programs across the country.
Plan all aspects of travel, manage receipts, and prepare travel reports to meet policies and deadlines.
Represents undergraduate admissions in a public\-speaking capacity both on and off campus and maintains records of these activities in SLATE.
Admissions/Advising \- 50%
Responsible for counseling and outreach to students and parents on the admissions requirements and procedures, and works directly with them to resolve extenuating circumstances, complaints and appeals
Manages data, prospects, applicants, and recruitment territories through the SLATE (CRM) system to enhance student relationships, communication timelines and to connect students with other areas of the university.
Cultivate student applicant pool and assist with the transition to campus for incoming student, including coordination with international student support offices as appropriate.
In accordance with university guidelines and enrollment objectives, determines eligibility of applicants for admissions based on analysis of the admission application, transcripts, standardized tests, and supplemental documentation.
Utilizes professional judgement to analyze the complete student file to determine full admission, admission by exception, denial or to send the application on for further review.
Responds, within established time benchmarks and service delivery protocols, to inquiries regarding admissions status from prospective students.
Provides assistance to prospective students regarding admissions requirements and process.
Updates information in SLATE and other university systems.
Maintains a high level of working knowledge of university information, organization, opportunities, and policies
Responsible for advising and counseling special populations that may include but are not limited to athletes, rural students, urban students, conservatory, honors, competitive scholars, international students etc.
Programming \- 10%
Assists and participates in a variety of on\-campus and off\-campus recruitment and yield programs, virtually and in person
Implements recruitment activities such as application workshops, information sessions, financial aid information sessions and outreach presentations.
Supports virtual programming and communications tailored to domestic and international audience across multiple time zones.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities\*

Cultivates working relationships with university schools and colleges, departments, counselors and advisors to enhance student service and satisfaction as well as establish community contacts
Reports statistical data on programs, projects, SLATE cases and travel activities
Collaborates with international student services, enrollment operations, and compliance teams to support international enrollment processes.
Serves on internal committees and task forces and participates in work groups to support the mission of Enrollment Management and Webster University
Standard Schedule: Days 8:30am \- 4:30pm with occasional evening and weekend hours. Travel is required for events.

Minimum Qualifications
Requisite Experience\*
One year of experience in recruitment, admissions, advising, or related enrollment and/or student service experience.
Bachelors Degree

Functional/Technical Skills\*
Skill in operating a computer and supporting software
Knowledge of immigration rules and regulations.
Knowledge of college admissions policies and procedures.
Skill in reviewing/evaluating transcripts.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity and diplomacy.
Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
Ability to learn and apply applicable federal regulations.
Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
A working knowledge of higher education within the United States.
