- Maintain accurate general ledger accounting by recording journal entries, reconciling accounts, and managing the chart of accounts.
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure consistency between bank statements and internal records.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms to streamline bookkeeping tasks.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify the accuracy of financial data.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including profit \& loss statements and balance sheets, supporting management decision\-making.
- Assist with payroll processing, tax preparation, and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Support governmental accounting requirements and non\-profit accounting standards when applicable.
- Handle account reconciliation tasks with precision using double\-entry bookkeeping principles, ensuring all debits \& credits are correctly posted.
- Contribute to budgeting activities by tracking expenses and assisting with financial planning efforts.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within corporate or non\-profit environments.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar tools; experience with Quicken is a plus.
- Solid understanding of GAAP standards and governmental or non\-profit accounting practices if relevant.
- Knowledge of technical accounting concepts including general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, account analysis, and bank reconciliations.
- Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes and payroll management.
- Ability to perform 10\-key typing quickly and accurately for data entry tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail for account reconciliation and financial report writing.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external auditors.
