This recruitment may be used to fill the position at either the Analyst I or Analyst II level, depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
Analyst II
Under the direction of the Technology Integration Unit Manager, the Analyst II performs advanced analytical work and leads assigned areas of responsibility supporting all phases of DI Branch project planning, design, development, testing, training, and implementation. The incumbent collaborates with DI Branch stakeholders, Business Integration Unit (BIU), and Information Technology (IT) Branch partners to refine business requirements for automated systems. The Analyst II participates in focus groups and joint application development sessions, serves as a subject matter expert in areas such as system interfaces, program integrity, business rules, and testing, and independently analyzes business processes to recommend improvements to existing DI programs. The Analyst II plays a key role in enhancing program effectiveness, supporting innovation, and improving the overall customer experience.
Analyst I
Under the supervision of the Technology Integration Unit Manager, the Analyst I participates in a broad range of analytical activities supporting all phases of Disability Insurance (DI) Branch projects, including planning, design, development, testing, training, implementation, and system support. The incumbent works closely with Business Integration Unit (BIU), Disability Insurance (DI) Branch, and Information Technology (IT) Branch staff to support system enhancements and improve operational efficiency and customer experience. Duties may include participating in user acceptance testing, analyzing program data, documenting business requirements, and assisting in the development of business rules for automated systems.
This position is headquartered in Sacramento. Will consider candidates who are located throughout the State of California. This position allows for a hybrid telework schedule, which is subject to change, under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telework.
Employees are required to report to one of the following locations for their in\-office days:
Sacramento County: 1416 9th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814
Fresno County: 855 M Street, 8th Floor, Fresno, CA 93721
Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters/offices are the responsibility of the employee. The Sacramento headquarters is located in downtown Sacramento near light rail. The Fresno office is located in downtown Fresno.
Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% \- 4\.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025\) per month. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates who are within six months of satisfying the experience requirement will be admitted to the examination, but they must fully meet the experience requirement before being eligible for appointment.
Analyst I
Four years of work experience performing analytical, technical, clerical, and/or customer service duties. Academic education from an accredited college/university may be substituted for the required experience on a year\-for\-year basis.
Analyst II
Four years of work experience performing analytical, technical, clerical, and/or customer service duties. Academic education from an accredited college/university may be substituted for the required experience on a year\-for\-year basis; and
An additional year of professional analytical and/or technical experience equivalent to an Analyst I, Range C.
