The Temp – Project Manager will serve as the strategic lead for the technological evolution of the payroll function, specifically focused on maximizing the ROI of UKG Pro. This role will act as the bridge between Payroll, IT, and external UKG partners to identify operational gaps, reduce redundant manual processes, and engineer automated workflows while simultaneously processing the day to day payroll cycle (along with the Payroll team currently consisting of a manager and three coordinators). This role requires experience processing payroll to identify gaps and reduce manual processes.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform end\-to\-end payroll processing within UKG Pro, including data entry, time clock verification, gross\-to\-net calculations, and final payroll transmission.
- Provide support for employee inquiries regarding pay stubs, tax withholdings, and deductions, providing high\-touch customer service.
- Conduct a deep\-dive assessment of the current UKG configuration to identify underutilized features, process bottlenecks, and manual "shadow" processes.
- Design and implement streamlined workflows within UKG to eliminate manual data entry, reduce errors, and ensure 100% data integrity.
- Partner with Internal IT and UKG technical consultants to design, test, and deploy robust API integrations and file feeds between UKG and internal business systems.
- Document current\-state vs. future\-state requirements. Identify where the system fails to meet business needs and advocate for technical solutions or configuration changes.
- Manage the end\-to\-end lifecycle of payroll projects, including timelines, stakeholder communications, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and post\-go\-live support.
- Act as the primary point of contact for UKG professional services, ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within scope.
- 3\-5 years of payroll processing in UKG.
- Proven experience managing or implementing UKG Pro (formerly UltiPro).
- Deep knowledge of UKG reporting (Business Intelligence), workflow configuration, and system administration.
- 3\-5 years of experience leading complex HRIS or Payroll projects.
- Understanding the logic of integrations, data mapping, and how APIs function.
- Excellence in translating complex technical requirements into clear updates for non\-technical stakeholders.
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor’s degrees preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or Human Resources.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full\-time on\-site position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. One remote day per week may be available, depending on project needs.
