Rocket Youth operates a growing portfolio of youth sports, enrichment, and after\-school programs nationwide. Our multi\-brand, multi\-location model allows each business to retain its local identity while benefiting from Rocket Youth’s operational support in marketing, analytics, finance, HR, CRM, M\&A, and more.
We are highly acquisitive, completing 10–15 acquisitions per year, primarily founder\-led with experienced local operators managing daily operations. Rocket Youth provides strategic oversight, operational guidance, and growth support to maximize performance and scale.### Role Overview
As Director of Business Operations, you will oversee a portfolio of recreational businesses—initially gymnastics and swimming schools—with potential to expand into other divisions. You won’t manage daily operations directly but will set strategy, identify issues, drive execution through local leaders, and be accountable for results. Authority must be applied thoughtfully, respecting our partnership model with founder\-led businesses.### What We Offer

- Oversee \~5 businesses initially, growing to 10–15 in steady state
- Support operators with varying experience levels and systems
- Full P\&L accountability across your portfolio
- Set strategic priorities and drive execution
- Identify risks and underperformance early; implement corrective actions
- Conduct monthly operating reviews with partners and executive leadership
- Increase enrollment while maintaining safety and customer experience
- Optimize class schedules and utilization
- Manage pricing, promotions, and program launches
- Partner with marketing to maximize lead generation and enrollment
- Improve lead\-to\-enrollment conversion
- Reduce churn and increase lifetime customer value
- Implement retention strategies and reactivate churned customers
- Cross\-sell programs and initiatives
- Optimize staffing and roles across coaches, admin, and leadership
- Align labor with demand and enrollment
- Hire, replace, or develop local leadership as needed
- Diagnose root causes of underperformance and implement turnaround plans
- Drive execution through local leaders, stepping in decisively when needed
- Support M\&A integration and standardization of systems
- Maintain safety standards and compliance across locations
- Liaise between local operators and HQ
- Manage vendor, landlord, and CMS relationships

- Experience in small\-to\-medium business environments with developing systems
- Strong P\&L and operational management skills
- Enrollment\-driven and capacity\-constrained business models
- Pricing, promotions, and revenue optimization knowledge
- Labor planning and productivity optimization
- High emotional intelligence and leadership ability
- Ability to drive results through others with judgment and decisiveness
