Senior Accountant

Job Purpose
The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing complex accounting needs for Holiday Oil and other related companies. Assumes a leadership role to perform critical accounting functions and guide accounting personnel in daily tasks. Reviews financial data to make forecasting decisions and communicates with company management regarding financial strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with month end close process for multiple entities
- Ensures compliance and current licensing for stores
- Performs monthly bank reconciliations
- Monthly review of expenses and GL coding
- Accrues for property taxes and other items
- Tracks and oversees loyalty program expenses and accruals
- Learns, understands, and interprets all accounting systems and processes the latest accounting system
- Manages company state/county/city licensing
- Assists with Fuel reconciliation process
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files
- Prepares and reconcile key balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Prepares monthly financial reports
- Assists Assistant Controller with tasks as needed
- Calculates and pays monthly sales and fuel taxes
- Completes accounts payable for key accounts, and reconciles their monthly statements
- Manages insurance delivery process and risk management metrics
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related business field
- 4\+ years' experience in a related filed or job role
- Ability to learn accounting software GP Dynamics
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, debits, and credits
- Team player with ability to work across departments
- Strong problem\-solving and analytical skills
