Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Information Technology Supervisor I. The Associate Administrative Analyst (Accounting Systems) will perform the more complex technological studies related to the implementation of Department of Justice (DOJ) and statewide fiscal and accounting systems. The Associate Administrative Analyst works with the Fiscal Systems Unit staff, providing guidance and recommendations to management on the impacts of new systems and designs solutions to support DOJ’s mission, while advising management on accounting fiscal system problems. The Associate Administrative Analyst also corresponds with control agencies and data centers to set criteria required to implement the electronic exchange of data. The Associate Administrative Analyst will create and maintain current databases essential to the completion of work processes within the Accounting Office and other units within the DOJ.
Working Conditions

- This position is located in the Division of Administrative Services, Accounting Office, Fiscal Systems Unit in Sacramento.

- Knowledge of Accounting and Financial Principles and Procedures.
- Experience with Fiscal Systems, including FI$Cal, Labor Distribution, Cost Allocation, COA, Table Maintenance, \& MEC/YEC.
- Experience with Access, VBA, ODBC, Database Maintenance, Form Design, Report Creation, SQL queries, and table updates.
- Experience with complex data analysis, data mining \& transformations, advanced Excel skill set, monarch, etc.
- Strong problem solving skills, analyze large data sets, identify trends, draw sound conclusions, \& make recommendations.
- Assist with procedural design, system logic, and guidance in the implementation, operation, and support of Fiscal Systems.
- Quick learner, ability to work independently, gather and research info, and take ownership of projects and assignments.
- Ability to establish priorities, organize workload, multi\-task, work well under pressure, and exercise initiative and flexibility.
- Team oriented, great communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Describe your knowledge of Accounting and Financial Principles and Procedures.
- Describe your experience with Fiscal Systems and/or other ERP System.
- Describe your technical skill sets (ie. Data Analysis, Spreadsheets, Databases, Coding, etc).

Personal Leave Program: Effective July 1, 2025, state employees are subject to temporary wage reductions in exchange for Personal Leave Program (PLP) accruals.
