*Job Title: Accounting Assistant \- Temporary*
*Position Overview:
- This temporary position of up to 9 months could be a temporary to hire opportunity and will report weekly certified payroll, ensure compliance with union agreements, and assist with related accounting tasks such as accounts payable invoices. The role requires strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage the accuracy and complexity of union payroll. This is an in\-office position 5 days per week with no work from home.
- Data verification:
- Accounts Payable: Sorting, tracking and entering invoices, accounts payable invoice and payment tracking.
- Creating and Submitting IC 134 forms as requested.
- Assist in maintaining financial records and ensuring accurate data entry.
- Prepare and maintain certified union spreadsheets and accounting documents.
- Assist with audits, fact checks and resolving discrepancies.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing issues.
- Perform general administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and responding to emails.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Must pass a background check and have a valid driver’s license.
- Spectrum software experience preferred.
- Advanced written, verbal, customer service and relationship building skills.
- High level organizational skills.
- Strong multi‐tasking skills.
- Flexible, willingness to be able to adapt to change.
- Ability to work well with others both internally and externally, including in stressful situations.
- Proficiency in standard office computer programs such as MS Office 365\.
- Knowledge of industry is recommended but not required.
- Ability to operate effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
