Duties
- Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and payment requests using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Workday
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger updates
- Assist with month\-end closing procedures, including accruals and financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Manage vendor and customer communications regarding payments, billing inquiries, and account status updates
- Support compliance with SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act) controls by documenting processes and maintaining audit\-ready records
- Collaborate with human resources on benefits administration and payroll management using systems like ADP, Ceridian, or UltiPro to ensure timely processing
- Proven experience in accounts payable and receivable functions within a corporate or nonprofit setting
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits \& credits, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting
- Familiarity with financial software including QuickBooks, Sage, Workday, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of payroll systems like ADP or Kronos combined with benefits administration experience is a plus
- Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills
- Experience working with governmental or public accounting standards is advantageous
- Demonstrated analysis skills for account reconciliation and financial reporting tasks
