Bosch Building Technologies Integrator Business
The regional system integration business called Bosch Building Technologies offers solutions and customized services for building security, energy efficiency, and building automation for commercial buildings and infrastructure projects Bosch started its Integrator Business in North America through the acquisition of Climatec in 2015\. Climatec expanded Bosch’s role as a comprehensive supplier of energy, building automation and security solutions. Climatec is recognized in the building industry as an independent single\-source integrator of critical building systems including energy services, building automation and security \& life safety in the U.S. market. The company provides consulting, planning, implementation and 24/7 remote management. Job Summary: The HVAC System Technician is responsible for servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting commercial HVAC equipment to ensure reliable system performance and customer satisfaction. This role performs preventative maintenance, diagnoses issues, completes repairs, and works closely with customers and project teams to deliver high\-quality service and accurate documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Use a variety of hand tools and specialty equipment typical of the commercial HVAC service industry.
- Use tools and equipment effectively, requiring both technical skills and a commitment to safety. Attention to detail is critical, as installers must ensure that all materials are installed correctly and meet quality standards.
- Service a variety of HVAC equipment to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Survey a customer’s site for properly operating equipment and report any deficiencies found. Provide sales leads to internal associates as necessary.
- Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacements and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
- Prepare in advance for onsite installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating various trades for on\-site work.
- Diagnose/troubleshoot inoperable equipment and develop action plan for repairs and problem resolution for service calls.
- Determine replacement parts required, secure materials and complete repairs in a timely matter.
- Interact face\-to\-face with customers to ensure proper and accurate communication exists.
- Document all work performed by accurately completing field service reports, equipment log sheets and PM tasking.
- Complete and submit all required paperwork to office in a timely matter, as instructed.
- Work closely with Lead Installers and other team members to ensure that installations meet safety standards and client specifications.
- Pay attention to detail and adhere to timelines.
- Interpret Climatec / Bosch Building Technologies’ and other’s drawings to productively install equipment and/or special building system installations.
- Support installation personnel on project sites.
- Assist in providing necessary information to complete As\-built drawings and Operation \& Maintenance Manuals.
- Provide up\-to\-date As\-built information as required including locations for sensors, panels, database, code, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 2\+ of experience interpreting job documents, owner documents, and company documents to install and/or service HVAC equipment.
- EPA Section 608 certification (CFC) required. Must maintain all customer documentation of refrigerant use.
- Operational knowledge on Microsoft Office software and basic computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills.
- Must pass pre\-hire requirements including background check and drug screening.
- Clean DMV record.
- Completion of a two\-year technical HVAC/refrigeration training program, trade school or equivalent associate’s degree in related field.
- 5\+ years experience in the HVAC field.
- Proficiency in working with electronic equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic electric and electronic circuitry, including reading and interpreting electrical and low voltage diagrams.
- Familiarity with AC power circuitry, including breakers, multi\-phase power, etc. (120VAC and greater).
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1\.8m (6 feet)
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, may be required to travel to and from job site locations, may work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Confined space entry may be required. High work may be required.
