Payroll Processor \- Government Contracting
*This is not entry\-level payroll. Government experience is required to be considered for this position.*
Location: Fully Remote (U.S. Based)

Compensation: $60,000 – $65,000 annually
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Processor with government contracting experience to join a fast\-paced, high\-growth organization supporting multi\-state federal programs.
This role is responsible for processing complex, multi\-state payroll across multiple locations and union environments. The ideal candidate understands Service Contract Act (SCA), Davis\-Bacon Act (DBA), union agreements, and fringe benefit compliance and is comfortable operating in a high\-volume, deadline\-driven environment.
*This is not a basic payroll clerk role. We are looking for someone who understands compliance, accrual structures, and government payroll intricacies*
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi\-weekly multi\-state payroll for a distributed workforce
- Administer payroll for government contracts subject to:
- Calculate and reconcile:
- Ensure accurate wage determinations and prevailing wage compliance
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Process off\-cycle payrolls and adjustments as needed
- Perform payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Support audit requests (DOL, DCAA, union audits, internal reviews)
- Partner with HR and Operations to ensure accurate onboarding, terminations, and pay changes
- Maintain payroll documentation and audit trails
- Experience with Paycom required
- Experience with JAMIS (or other government\-focused ERP) strongly preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including:
- Comfortable working across payroll, timekeeping, and ERP system
- 3\+ years of payroll processing experience
- 2\+ years of payroll experience in a government contracting environment
- Experience processing multi\-state payroll
- Working knowledge of:
- Strong attention to detail with ability to manage high\-volume workload
- Ability to meet strict payroll deadlines in a fast\-paced environment
- Strong problem\-solving and reconciliation skills
- Experience in high\-turnover workforce environments
- Experience processing payroll across multiple job sites or cost centers
- Exposure to DCAA or Department of Labor audit processes
- Experience supporting timekeeping systems tied to government billing
