Job Summary

Our law firm is seeking a detail\-oriented Part\-Time Legal Billing Clerk to support our billing and accounts receivable operations. This role is responsible for preparing attorney pre\-bills, managing expenses, finalizing client invoices, managing electronic billing submissions, and maintaining accurate billing records.

The ideal candidate has strong Excel skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience with legal billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable. This position works closely with attorneys and administrative staff to ensure timely and accurate client billing.

This is an in\-office position (not remote or hybrid).

Key Responsibilities

Legal Billing \& Pre\-Bill Review

  • Generate
  • monthly attorney pre\-bills and incorporate revisions including time adjustments, write\-offs, and cost transfers.

  • Prepare and finalize
  • client invoices for legal services and expenses.

  • Ensure invoices comply with
  • client billing guidelines and retainer agreements.

    Electronic Billing (E\-Billing)

  • Submit invoices through
  • electronic billing platforms and client portals.

  • Monitor invoice submissions for
  • rejections, reductions, or appeals and resolve issues promptly.

    Accounts Receivable

  • Track
  • client payments, retainers, and trust account activity.

  • Apply payments to outstanding invoices and reconcile accounts receivable.
  • Follow up on
  • outstanding balances and overdue invoices.

    Billing Records \& Data Management

  • Maintain accurate records of billing transactions and account activity.
  • Perform high\-accuracy
  • data entry.

  • Assist with
  • accounts payable processing as needed.

    Reporting

  • Generate
  • accounts receivable aging reports, unbilled time reports, and other billing summaries for management.

    Qualifications

  • Prior experience in
  • legal billing, accounting, or law firm administration preferred.

  • Strong
  • attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy.
  • Professional communication skills when interacting with attorneys, staff, and clients.
  • Required Skills

    * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred

  • Experience with
  • legal billing or accounting software preferred

  • Strong
  • data entry accuracy and analytical ability

    Work Environment

    * In\-office position (not remote or hybrid)

  • Part\-time hours (schedule to be discussed)

Pay: $18\.00 \- $20\.00 per hour
