Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail\-oriented Medical Assistant to support our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical and administrative tasks within various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, and urgent care environments. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and high\-quality patient care.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments across diverse specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, and emergency medicine.
- Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories and performing initial assessments.
- Manage patient intake processes efficiently while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Support clinical procedures such as X\-ray imaging, medication administration, and basic life support when necessary.
- Document patient information precisely using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ensure proper ICD coding for diagnoses.
- Assist with laboratory tasks, including specimen collection and processing in hospital or outpatient settings.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas while adhering to safety standards in Level I or Level II trauma centers or surgical environments.
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant with exposure to dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology relevant to inpatient and outpatient care.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and ICD coding practices for accurate documentation.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as X\-ray or medication administration are advantageous.
- Experience working in hospital environments such as Level I trauma centers or PICU is preferred.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations.
