Job Title: Senior Accountant (Property Management)

Overview:
Pure Property Management is seeking a detail\-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to lead our financial operations. This role is designed for a professional who thrives on accuracy, process improvement, and high\-level oversight.
Pure has residential/multifamily properties in Eastern Nebraska (Midtown Omaha, West Omaha, Fremont, Columbus, and Norfolk) and Summit County, Colorado (Frisco and a new storage facility in Silverthorne) NOTE: Pure Property Management, LLC of Nebraska is a locally\-owned company not affiliated with Pure Operating, LLC a/k/a Pure Management, a national company based in California with operations in Nebraska.
Role:
You will be responsible for managing the integrity of our financial records across a diverse portfolio (Residential \& Storage). You will supervise our current full\-time bookkeeper—who handles daily AP, 1099s, and initial reconciliations—allowing you to focus on complex journal entries, tax preparation, and scaling our accounting infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Departmental Oversight: Supervise the full\-time bookkeeper to ensure data integrity; provide quality assurance on coding (e.g., distinguishing between utility expenses and supply costs).
* Complex Reconciliations: Resolve high\-level reconciliation discrepancies, including non\-rent receivables, utility refunds, and escrow adjustments.
* Process Improvement: Identify and implement sophisticated workflows within AppFolio and QuickBooks to automate expense management and enhance credit card oversight.
* Operational Support: Act as the subject matter expert for Property Managers on complex ledger entries, such as lease terminations and security deposit forfeitures.
* Tax \& Compliance Strategy: Partner with our external Tax Accountant for annual returns; provide monthly "tax\-ready" financial reviews to eliminate year\-end bottlenecks.
* Financial Reporting: Field non\-operational financial inquiries from property owners and provide high\-level analysis of corporate and property\-level performance.
Qualifications \& Skills
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
* Experience: Proven accounting experience specifically within the Property Management industry.
* Technical Proficiency: Strong familiarity with property management software (AppFolio experience is a plus) and QuickBooks.
* Autonomy: A true self\-starter who excels in a remote environment. We value results and accuracy over micromanaged hours.
* Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for interacting with owners, vendors, and internal management.
* Analytical Mindset: An obsession with detail and the ability to "see the big picture" to help the company scale.

Long Term Disability
Disability coverage is offered through Met Life and Employees are eligible on the first of the month after 30 days of service.
The benefit is 60% of employees’ pay and maxed out at $6,000 per month.
Vision and Dental
After 30 day waiting period, Employees have the option to purchase Vision and Dental coverage via a direct deduction from their paycheck at Employee’s expense. Employees will have access to annual Dental and Vision exams, as well as frames and contact lenses. Premium and co\-pays vary based on coverage.

Life
After 30 days of employment, Employer will pay 100% of premium for all employees to enjoy a $20,000 life insurance policy.
Long Term Disability
After 30 days of employment, Employer will pay 100% of premium for all employees to enjoy a Long Term Disability policy whereas employee will continue to receive 60% of their income for any debilitating injury. Certain terms and restrictions apply.
401k with Matching
Employees are eligible after satisfying the plan eligibility requirements which are below. 401k Savings Retirement plan through Voya Financial.
Eligibility requirements – age 21, matching begins immediately, vesting after one year.
100% match of employee deferrals up to 3% of compensation \+ 50% match of employee deferrals on next 2% of compensation (max match 4% of compensation).

Eligible employees receive a paid holiday only if the holiday falls on a day they are normally scheduled to work. If not, it would be on the day the holiday is observed. Full\-time employees are eligible for paid holidays immediately upon hire.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
PTO is designed to provide the employee with flexibility when needed and reasonable time off from work. Employees should refer to their individual Policy as to their accrual schedule. Each Full\-time employee will be eligible for PTO on their birthday. If an employee's birthday falls on a weekend, then they will be eligible to take the Friday before or Monday after.
Nebraska\-mandated Sick Time Off
Accrued and used in compliance with Nebraska Laws.
