We are seeking a dedicated and detail\-oriented Dental Office Front Desk Administrator to serve as the first point of contact for our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of dental office operations. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily clinic functions, providing exceptional patient service, and supporting clinical staff through efficient office management. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, insurance verification, and medical billing processes while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly, manage multi\-line phone systems, and schedule appointments using Open Dental.
- Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical history and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks.
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Support clinical staff by managing care plans documentation and coordinating patient follow\-up appointments.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, typing (including 10\-key), and managing office supplies to ensure an efficient front desk environment.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to address patient inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Prior experience working in a dental office environment either in the administrative department or as a dental assistant.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD\-10/ICD\-9\), CPT coding, and dental billing procedures.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with health information management software is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks.
