Administrative Assistant (Part\-Time)

Hours: 16–24 hours per week
Pay: $19–$21 per hour
Position Overview
Covenant Shelter of New London is seeking a reliable and organized Part\-Time Administrative Assistant to support the daily administrative needs of the organization. This position works closely with the CEO and Operations Manager to ensure smooth office operations and effective communication.
The Administrative Assistant plays an important role in supporting our mission to serve individuals experiencing homelessness. The ideal candidate is detail\-oriented, compassionate, and comfortable working in a trauma\-informed environment within a shelter setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the CEO and Operations Manager
- Draft and send donor thank\-you letters and general correspondence
- Maintain and update the donor database, ensuring accurate donor records
- Assist with basic financial data entry and record keeping
- Monitor and respond to general organizational emails
- Assist with calendar management and scheduling meetings
- Provide administrative support for fundraising and donor events, including preparation, coordination, and follow\-up tasks
- Assist with incoming and outgoing mail and related correspondence
- Help maintain organized office systems, including digital and physical filing
- Support preparation of reports, documents, and meeting materials
- Perform general office tasks such as copying, scanning, and document management
- Support additional administrative and organizational needs as they arise
- Previous administrative or office support experience preferred
- Strong organizational and time\-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email systems)
- Experience with data entry or donor database systems preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Compassionate, respectful, and comfortable working in a trauma\-informed shelter environment
- Detail\-oriented and dependable
- Self\-motivated and able to work independently
- Flexible and willing to assist where needed
