We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Freight Broker Sales Representative to join our expanding logistics team. Duties
- Develop and nurture relationships with new and existing clients through proactive outreach, including cold calling, networking, and lead generation strategies.
- Identify customer freight needs and craft tailored transportation solutions that optimize supply chain efficiency.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with shippers and carriers to maximize profitability while maintaining excellent service standards.
- Manage transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, and other logistics tools to track shipments, update records, and ensure data accuracy.
- Coordinate with carriers, dispatchers, and warehouse teams to facilitate smooth freight movement, adhering to safety regulations such as FDA guidelines when applicable.
- Conduct inside sales activities including quoting freight rates, processing bookings, and managing customer inquiries via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and AS400 systems.
- Monitor market trends in logistics sales, 3PL (Third\-Party Logistics), NVOCC (Non\-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), and transportation planning to identify new opportunities for growth.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Proven experience in B2B sales within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively while maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Familiarity with CRM software for lead tracking, account management, and customer communication.
- Understanding of logistics operations including dispatching, carrier sales, freight pricing, contracts, and transportation planning.
- Ability to handle data entry accurately in systems like EDI or AS400; experience with transportation management systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations related to shipping pharmaceuticals or food products is a plus.
