We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. Duties
- Greet patients warmly, check\-in and check\-out appointments efficiently, and manage patient intake processes
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verifications using systems like Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing dental office management software and coordinate patient flow throughout the day
- Assist dental providers during procedures by preparing instruments, taking X\-rays, and ensuring sterilization protocols are followed
- Manage medical records by updating EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks, ensuring documentation review and accuracy
- Handle medical billing processes including coding with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD\-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding for accurate claims submission
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and practicing confidentiality at all times
- Answer multi\-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries promptly
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, typing reports, and managing office supplies to ensure smooth clinic operations
- Extensive experience with dental office management software including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms like Meditech or Epic
- Proficiency in medical coding (CPT, ICD\-9/10\), billing procedures, and insurance verification processes
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for documentation review and data entry
- Ability to handle medical administrative support tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management
- Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite for report writing, correspondence, and record keeping
- Experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Strong organizational skills for front desk operations including appointment scheduling, filing, and managing multi\-line phone systems
- Prior clinic or hospital experience preferred to ensure seamless integration into healthcare workflows
