This advanced fellowship provides specialized training for neurosurgeons seeking to develop expertise in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery within a nationally recognized academic medical center. This Committee on Accreditation of Specialty Training (CAST) accredited fellowship is offered under the leadership of Associate Professor Jakub Godzik, M.D., MS, and provides fellows with intensive training in cutting\-edge spine surgery techniques, research mentorship, and leadership development. Fellows work closely with experienced faculty in a collaborative academic environment designed to advance their clinical expertise while preparing them for successful, independent practice. Our fellowship offers high\-volume clinical exposure, advanced surgical training, personalized mentorship, research opportunities, and professional development. Fellows gain experience managing a diverse and complex patient population referred to UAB from throughout Alabama and the Southeast.
