Part\-Time Computer Repair Technician Anticipated Start Date: January 1, 2027 Rapid Response IT is a growing IT service provider looking for a friendly, experienced, and dependable Part\-Time Computer Repair Technician to join our team as we expand into a future physical computer repair location. This position is expected to begin January 1, 2027 and will primarily work Saturdays and Sundays, approximately 10–11 hours per day. The technician will assist customers and handle computer repairs from initial check\-in through diagnosis, repair, payment, and device pickup. We're looking for someone who enjoys technology, takes pride in solving problems, and is comfortable working directly with customers. As Rapid Response IT continues to grow, this position may also provide an opportunity to transition into a full\-time role for someone interested in expanding into mobile residential and commercial IT services. What You'll Do Welcome customers and complete device check\-in and customer intake. Listen to customer concerns and gather information about the problems they're experiencing. Diagnose desktop and laptop hardware and software issues. Perform computer repairs, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Install and troubleshoot Windows, drivers, applications, and related software. Replace and upgrade components such as storage drives, RAM, power supplies, cooling components, and other hardware. Perform malware removal, system optimization, data transfers, and other approved services. Explain diagnostic findings and repair recommendations in clear, understandable terms. Create and maintain accurate repair tickets. Document diagnostics, repairs, parts used, customer approvals, and completed work. Communicate with customers regarding estimates, approvals, repair status, and completed devices. Handle customer payments and provide receipts. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional repair area. Properly handle and secure customer devices and information. Help customers learn about other Rapid Response IT products and services when appropriate. Perform other computer repair and customer service responsibilities as needed. What We're Looking For Previous professional experience in computer repair, IT support, help desk, field service, or a closely related technical role is required. We're looking for someone who also has: Strong computer hardware and software troubleshooting skills. Experience working with Windows computers. Familiarity with common desktop and laptop repairs and upgrades. The ability to troubleshoot problems methodically and independently. Good communication and customer service skills. The ability to explain technical issues to customers in an easy\-to\-understand way. Attention to detail when documenting repairs and updating tickets. Comfort handling customer payments and transactions. Dependability, professionalism, and good time\-management skills. The ability to safely lift and move desktop computers, monitors, and other common computer equipment. Consistent Saturday and Sunday availability.
