Role Overview The Paralegal I provides foundational legal, administrative, and operational support to in\-house counsel and the broader legal function. This position focuses on core administrative support tasks, including document routing, signature tracking, official mailings, record intake, and maintaining central department filing systems. This entry\-to\-junior level role requires high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to execute repetitive and routine legal administration processes efficiently while following established guidelines. Essential Functions Support administrative, operational, and legal functions under executive leadership, including General Counsel, Contracts, Facilities, Licensing, Lobby Customer Service, and Third\-Party Origination. Coordinate daily legal department mailings, incoming and outgoing correspondence, physical package intake, and service of process routing. Manage document execution processes, including routing contracts, corporate filings, and disclosures for signature via electronic signature platforms or physical notarization. Maintain organized physical and electronic central files, ensuring all executed agreements, legal notices, and records are properly indexed and archived in document management systems. Track pending contract signatures, deadline milestones, and general task logs, sending routine follow\-ups to internal and external parties. Provide entry\-level administrative and organizational support to in\-house counsel and senior legal team members as assigned. Assist with basic data entry for litigation tracking databases, contract expiration logs, and corporate governance files. Help organize written and electronic company policies to support consistency and easy access. Perform basic legal research, administrative errands, and document collection tasks as directed by legal counsel. Undertake other routine administrative or support matters as assigned by the legal team. Provide coverage and back\-up support for our front lobby operations by greeting guests, issuing visitor badges, escorting visitors, inventory, supply ordering, breakroom cleaning and handling incoming phone inquiries. Knowledge Skills and Abilities Basic knowledge of standard legal terms, general administrative procedures, and office recordkeeping practices. Exposure to or familiarity with general mortgage, banking, finance, or real estate terminology is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic electronic signature and document tools. Strong organizational habits with high accuracy and keen attention to detail. Clear verbal and written communication skills with a professional customer service mindset. Ability to follow structured checklists, standardized procedures, and direct instructions effectively. Experience \& Education High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 0\-2 years of experience in a legal assistant, legal clerk, or administrative support role; prior entry\-level experience in mortgage, banking, real estate, or finance is preferred. Paralegal certificate from an accredited institution or ABA\-approved program is a plus. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
