Job Summary The Temporary Donor Data Assistant provides temporary, part\-time support to the Donor Services team by helping maintain accurate donor records, enter gift and campaign information, clean up data, and support basic donor database tasks. This role is detail\-oriented, repetitive, and highly important to the integrity of BGCMD’s fundraising operations. The Temporary Donor Data Assistant works with confidential donor information and must follow established data standards, protect donor privacy, and flag unclear or inconsistent information for review. This position is best suited for someone who is accurate, organized, comfortable working in databases and spreadsheets, and able to stay focused while completing routine data tasks. Primary Responsibilities Donor Data Entry and Gift Support Enter donor, gift, fund, campaign, appeal, event, and other related information into BGCMD’s donor database or assigned tracking systems. Support timely and accurate entry of donation batches, event gifts, pledge information, donor updates, and related records. Prepare and import large constituent and gift data files, validating records, mapping fields, and ensuring imports are accurate, properly coded, and do not create duplicate constituent records. Review source materials, spreadsheets, forms, and reports to ensure information is entered completely and consistently. Apply donor coding, campaign coding, appeal coding, fund information, and other data fields according to established instructions. Flag incomplete, conflicting, or unclear information for review before making changes or assumptions. Donor Record Maintenance Update donor contact information, including names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, organization names, and relationship details. Assist with duplicate record review and basic record cleanup according to department standards. Support householding, organization record updates, and other donor record maintenance as assigned. Help maintain clean, consistent, and usable donor data for reporting, acknowledgment, stewardship, and fundraising purposes. Data Quality and Accuracy Follow written data entry standards and department procedures. Review work for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before submitting or marking tasks complete. Identify possible errors, missing information, duplicate records, or inconsistent coding. Support basic quality control checks, including reviewing completed work against source documents or spreadsheets. Maintain an organized list of questions, exceptions, and records needing staff review. Spreadsheet and Administrative Support Use Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar tools to sort, filter, clean, and organize donor data. Prepare or update simple spreadsheets, lists, and tracking documents. Support basic import preparation, list cleanup, and record matching as assigned. Provide regular status updates on assigned tasks, including work completed, issues identified, and items needing follow\-up. Confidentiality and Data Stewardship Maintain strict confidentiality of donor, financial, and organizational information. Use donor data only for assigned BGCMD business purposes. Follow BGCMD policies and department expectations related to data privacy, system access, and information security. Protect the accuracy and integrity of donor information by asking questions when information is unclear. Secondary Responsibilities Support preparation of donor information, mailing lists, event lists, or campaign lists as assigned. Assist with special projects related to donor database cleanup, seasonal fundraising campaigns, events, or year\-end giving. \\ Participate in training, check\-ins, and quality review processes. Perform other related duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not supervise employees. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent experience. At least one year of experience working within a donor database or CRM. Strong attention to detail and ability to complete repetitive tasks accurately. Ability to work with confidential information using good judgment and discretion. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet tools, including sorting, filtering, and basic data cleanup. Ability to follow written instructions, apply data standards, and ask questions when information is unclear. Strong organizational skills and ability to man.ge assigned tasks within agreed timelines. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while staying connected to supervisor direction and quality expectations. Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Experience using Raiser’s Edge NXT and/or Import\-O\-Matic. Experience with gift entry, donor record updates, gift coding, event data, pledge records, or duplicate record cleanup. Basic understanding of donor confidentiality, gift processing, donor acknowledgments, and fundraising operations. Experience supporting data reconciliation, finance coordination, or payment tracking. Comfort learning new systems and following structured data entry procedures. Conditions of Employment Must successfully complete required pre\-employment screening, which may include background check, reference check, and other screenings required by BGCMD policy. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of donor, employee, youth, family, financial, and organizational information. Must follow BGCMD policies, procedures, and data security expectations. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Must be able to work the agreed part\-time schedule during the seasonal/temporary assignment. This is a temporary position and does not guarantee continued employment beyond the seasonal assignment period. In\-Office and Remote Work This position will primarily support work connected to the Resource Development and Donor Services teams. This role is primarily hybrid or remote. Occasional in\-person work may be required, depending on department needs, performance, system access, and the nature of assigned tasks. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time. Ability to enter, review, and compare data with accuracy. Ability to communicate by email, phone, video call, and in\-person conversation. Ability to occasionally lift or move files, mail, or office materials up to 15 pounds.
