We specialize in the characterization, transport, and disposal of regulated soil, construction waste, and related materials across the NYC tri\-state region. Our clients include major real estate developers, heavy civil contractors, public agencies, and leading environmental consulting firms. Our work spans brownfield redevelopment, OER and NYSDEC remediation sites, large\-scale dredge projects, and civil infrastructure — and we are small business, growing quickly. This is not a bureaucratic environment. The right person will have real ownership of their work product, exposure, and a direct line to senior leadership from day one. The Role We are looking for a versatile environmental professional to join us in a hybrid project management, field science, and logistics capacity. This role does not fit neatly into one box — and that is intentional. The ideal candidate is someone who is interested in learning new skills, is capable of juggling multiple priorities, and enjoys direct interaction with clientele. Responsibilities Project Management \& Bidding Manage active projects from kickoff through closeout, coordinating with clients, consultants, disposal facilities, and trucking vendors Review incoming RFPs and bid opportunities; prepare cost estimates and proposals for soil disposal, waste characterization, and related services Track project budgets, schedules, and deliverables; flag issues early and drive resolution Serve as a primary point of contact for clients including developers, contractors, and environmental consultants Review geotechnical boring logs, laboratory analytical data, and waste characterization reports to inform project approach and pricing Prepare environmental reports and plans using template such as field sampling plans, material handling plans, and environmental health \& safety plans. Data Review \& Environmental Science Review and interpret laboratory analytical data against applicable cleanup standards (NYSDEC, OER, EPA RCRA, and multi\-state disposal facility requirements) Evaluate soil classifications and recommend appropriate disposal facilities and waste streams Research state\-specific soil cleanup objectives and regulatory requirements across disposal jurisdictions Support preparation of waste profiles, manifests, and regulatory documentation Assist with stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) and other compliance deliverables as needed Trucking \& Logistics Coordinate daily truck scheduling across active project sites, managing carrier relationships and resolving real\-time field issues Communicate with trucking vendors, site foremen, and disposal facilities to ensure on\-time, compliant material movement Track truck counts, tonnage, and disposal manifests; maintain accurate project records Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts, late trucks, and facility rejections quickly and decisively Field Work Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, observe sampling events, and support field scientists as needed Assist with soil and water sampling, field screening, and documentation Interface with contractors and site personnel in a professional and effective manner — comfort in a construction environment is essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field Experience in environmental consulting, waste management, soil disposal, or construction\-related environmental services — entry to senior level considered based on fit Familiarity with NYC, NYS, NJ, and/or Federal environmental regulatory frameworks Comfortable reading and interpreting laboratory data, geotechnical reports, and boring logs Strong organizational and communication skills — able to manage multiple active projects simultaneously Nice to have: OSHA 40\-hour HAZWOPER certification Experience with trucking coordination or logistics in a construction or environmental context Familiarity with disposal facility waste approval processes and manifesting Proficiency with GIS, Bluebeam, or similar tools Exposure to dredge projects or sediment work Active use of AI tools to improve workflow and efficiency Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle; ability to travel to project sites across the NYC tri\-state region Compensation \& Details Salary: $80,000 – $150,000 depending on experience and competency Full\-time position Hybrid schedule — initial period in our Jersey City or Midtown Manhattan office expected for onboarding and training; flexibility increases over time Occasional field work and site visits across the NYC tri\-state region required Pay: $60,000\.00 \- $130,000\.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Parental leave Professional development assistance Retirement plan * Vision insurance Work Location: Hybrid remote in Jersey City, NJ 07310
