Opportunity: Help launch a brand new, high\-tech dental clinic while providing 100% free care to those who need it most. Salt and Light Together, Inc.’s 501(c)(3\) Dental Clinic seeks a full\-time General Dentist serving Tarrant County's underserved populations. Founded in 2001 by members of First Presbyterian Church Fort Worth, the clinic was created to meet a critical gap in access to dental care for neighbors experiencing homelessness, low income, or no insurance. With the support of a generous donor, the clinic will reopen in 2026 following a full renovation as a modern, high\-tech, comprehensive, and no\-cost dental outreach clinic. This role offers a rare opportunity to help launch and shape a new clinic from the ground up, combining clinical practice with mission\-driven work, and restoring health and dignity one smile at a time. This position is full\-time, 40 hours, typically Monday – Friday and 1 Saturday a month. Dental clinics are Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 7 a.m. \- 4 p.m., Wednesday 10 a.m. \- 7 p.m., and one Saturday a month 8 a.m. \- 12 p.m. Job Duties: The essential functions listed are representative of those required to successfully perform the job. · Provide comprehensive dental care in compliance with the Dental Practice Act, including exams, extractions, restorations (fillings, 3D printed crowns), 3D printed bridges or dentures, root canals, oral surgeries, and other necessary procedures for underserved populations and neighbors experiencing homelessness · Utilize conventional analog dentistry and advanced technologies, including intra\-oral scanning (IOS), Cone Beam CT (3D imaging and virtual planning), 3D printing of restorations, \& Exocad (virtual planning software) · Assist in developing and ensuring compliance with clinic protocols, standard operating procedures, and infection control standards · Partner with the Practice Administrator and HR on the recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and retention of RDAs, RDH, and receptionist; serve as a collaborative backup supervisor to staff and volunteers · Support, train, and coach dental staff and volunteers to ensure quality, consistency, and compassionate care of the ministry’s outreach efforts · Contribute to the overall success of the dental ministry by performing additional duties as assigned Essential Requirements: Education \& Experience · Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school · Active State of Texas dental license in good standing · Minimum five (5\) years of general dentistry experience, including basic oral surgery and conventional analog dentistry, such as removable protheses (RPD and full dentures) or crown and bridge restorations · CPR \& Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications (or ability to obtain) · Proven experience and licensing for oral and parenteral sedation is highly preferred · Experience treating underserved populations and bilingual in Spanish are highly preferred · DEA registration for prescription administration (as applicable) · Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship (currently or in the future) Physical Requirements: The physical demands reflect requirements to successfully perform the essential job functions. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for qualified individuals with disabilities. · Constant movement throughout building and dental clinic and ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, reach, twist, squat, push/pull, maintain static or awkward postures during procedures, and move up to 25 pounds regularly · Fine motor skills, manual dexterity, maintaining steady hands and arms, and precise hand\-eye coordination · Fine visual acuity to perform detailed dental work and reading, including close vision and depth perception · Ability to operate standard dental and radiographic equipment and computer systems · Must hear with aid, effectively converse with stakeholders in English (and preferably Spanish), and respond quickly to sounds or emergency situations in potentially noisy environments · Exposure to bodily fluids and hazardous materials · Ability to manage workplace stressors such as complaints, emergent situations, loud noises, or competing priorities · Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules, including occasional evenings and Saturdays · Ability to work in a setting serving patients with complex medical, behavioral, or mobility challenges, which may require patience, adaptability, and occasional physical assistance (within appropriate safety limits) Team: Salt and Light’s Dental Clinic was initiated by members of First Presbyterian Church Fort Worth when they noticed the lack of accessible or free dental care in our community.
