Description: Job Description Revised: 2/18/2026 Position: Staff Accountant Department: Finance Reports To: Rodney Carter Position Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the organization's financial records, ensuring accuracy in reporting, performing account reconciliations and assisting with the month\-end and year\-end close processes. Your work will ensure our organization remains compliant with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) while providing management with the data needed for strategic decision\-making. Key Responsibilities: General Ledger: Maintain and balance the general ledger by recording daily transactions and preparing journal entries. Financial Reporting: Assist the Controller and Finance Director with monthly financial reporting. Assisting in the close Reconciliations: Bank Reconciliations, G/L Account Reconciliations, and Accounts Management: Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring all invoices and payments are processed accurately. Audit \& Tax Support: Assist with internal/external audits by gathering documentation and preparing schedules; assist in the preparation of tax filings and registrations. Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current accounting procedures and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and productivity. Required Skills \& Qualifications Experience: 1–3 years of professional accounting experience preferred (entry\-level candidates with strong internships will be considered). Software: Experience in Quickbooks Online or similar software is desired. MS Excel. Knowledge: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Soft Skills: High level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Prior experience in accounting or finance. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast\-paced environment. Physical \& Work Requirements: Hybrid Work Schedule Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. Frequent use of accounting and ERP systems and standard office equipment. Regular communication via phone, email, and virtual meetings. Ability to focus on detailed financial data for extended periods.
