Overview:
i3 is seeking an Assistant Product Manager to support the TUAS Product Office. This position will provide program management, acquisition, financial, contract, engineering, testing, airworthiness, logistics, fielding, and stakeholder coordination support for Battalion and Brigade UAS platforms.
The Assistant Product Manager will assist the Product Manager in directing and executing total lifecycle management activities for assigned systems, including development, production, testing, fielding, product improvement, and sustainment. The candidate will support program execution by monitoring cost, schedule, performance, risk, funding, contract actions, technical activities, and fielding efforts across the product life cycle.
This role includes preparation, review, coordination, and approval support for critical acquisition documentation, including Acquisition Strategies, Acquisition Program Baselines, Systems Engineering Plans, Milestone decision briefs, procurement packages, Statements of Work, Performance Work Statements, Contract Data Requirements Lists, and related program documentation.
The Assistant Product Manager will coordinate with matrixed engineering, logistics, testing, contracting, financial, airworthiness, and product support personnel. The candidate will lead or support Integrated Product Teams, contractor reviews, test coordination, fielding activities, New Equipment Training planning, and stakeholder engagements across Army aviation and acquisition organizations.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong program management judgment, acquisition knowledge, communication skills, leadership ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams. The candidate should be able to identify program risks, develop mitigation strategies, evaluate contractor performance, support funding execution, and communicate program status, issues, recommendations, and decisions to leadership and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Support program management, acquisition, financial, contract, engineering, testing, logistics, fielding, and stakeholder coordination activities within the TUAS Product Office.
- Serve as an Assistant Product Manager for Battalion and Brigade UAS platforms.
- Assist the Product Manager in directing and executing total lifecycle management for assigned systems.
- Support development, production, testing, fielding, product improvement, and sustainment activities.
- Assist in the preparation, review, coordination, and approval of critical acquisition documentation.
- Support development and review of Acquisition Strategies, Acquisition Program Baselines, Systems Engineering Plans, Milestone decision briefs, and related program documentation.
- Monitor programmatic cost, schedule, and performance metrics.
- Identify program risks and support development and implementation of mitigation strategies.
- Support execution of mission requirements within authorized budgets and program constraints.
- Support management and execution of Research, Development, Test \& Evaluation, Aircraft Procurement, and Operations \& Maintenance funding.
- Draft, review, and coordinate procurement packages, Statements of Work, Performance Work Statements, and Contract Data Requirements Lists.
- Conduct routine reviews with defense contractors to monitor earned value management, production schedules, deliverable quality, risks, and program execution.
- Lead or support Integrated Product Teams consisting of matrixed engineering, logistics, testing, contracting, financial, and product support personnel.
- Coordinate with AMCOM and independent testing agencies to support airworthiness releases and developmental and operational testing.
- Support planning and execution of airworthiness, developmental testing, and operational testing activities according to schedule.
- Evaluate engineering change proposals and software block upgrades.
- Support improvements to survivability, lethality, operational reach, performance, and sustainment of Brigade and Battalion UAS assets.
- Coordinate with the Product Support Manager to support supply chain planning, maintenance concepts, technical manuals, and fielding readiness.
- Coordinate New Equipment Training and fielding schedules with gaining Brigade Combat Teams and Combat Aviation Brigades.
- Serve as a liaison with TRADOC, Army Futures Command Capability Managers, and other stakeholders to align system development with validated operational requirements and evolving threat environments.
- Prepare and present programmatic, financial, acquisition, technical, and fielding briefings to leadership and stakeholders.
- Work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic government program office environment.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least seven (7\) years of relevant program management, acquisition, aviation, defense, logistics, engineering, contracting, or technical program experience.
- Experience supporting lifecycle management activities for defense, aviation, UAS, or complex technical systems.
- Experience supporting development, production, testing, fielding, product improvement, or sustainment activities.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, or coordinating acquisition, programmatic, technical, contract, or milestone documentation.
- Experience monitoring cost, schedule, performance, risk, or contractor execution.
- Experience supporting funding execution, procurement packages, Statements of Work, Performance Work Statements, Contract Data Requirements Lists, or related contract documentation.
- Ability to coordinate across engineering, logistics, testing, contracting, financial, product support, and stakeholder organizations.
- Ability to support risk identification, mitigation planning, and program execution.
- Ability to prepare and present program status, issues, analyses, recommendations, and decisions to leadership and stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

- U.S. citizenship.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance is required.
- Experience supporting Tactical Uncrewed Aircraft Systems, Battalion UAS, Brigade UAS, or other uncrewed aviation platforms.
- Experience supporting a Program Management Office or Product Office environment.
- Experience supporting Army aviation, PM UAS, PEO Aviation, AMCOM, TRADOC, Army Futures Command, or related defense aviation organizations.
- Experience serving as or supporting an Assistant Product Manager, Project Officer, acquisition analyst, program analyst, or similar program office role.
- Experience with Acquisition Strategies, Acquisition Program Baselines, Systems Engineering Plans, Milestone decision briefs, or other Army acquisition documentation.
- Experience supporting RDT\&E, Aircraft Procurement, Operations \& Maintenance, or other defense funding execution.
- Experience with earned value management, production schedule reviews, contractor deliverables, or contractor performance monitoring.
- Experience leading Integrated Product Teams, working groups, or cross\-functional coordination meetings.
- Experience supporting airworthiness releases, developmental testing, operational testing, or test coordination.
- Experience evaluating engineering change proposals, software block upgrades, or product improvement efforts.
- Experience coordinating fielding, New Equipment Training, technical manuals, supply chain planning, or sustainment readiness.
- Experience coordinating with Brigade Combat Teams, Combat Aviation Brigades, user representatives, or capability managers.
- Experience preparing senior\-level programmatic, financial, acquisition, or technical briefings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate programmatic, acquisition, financial, contract, technical, logistics, and fielding information in discussions, documents, and briefings.
