About Tandem Legal Solutions

Tandem Legal Solutions is a nationwide jury consulting and litigation strategy firm. We partner with trial attorneys to prepare for jury selection, develop persuasive case themes, and strengthen trial strategy through behavioral science, legal insight, real\-time courtroom observation, and targeted research.

Our work sits at the intersection of psychology and advocacy. We help legal teams navigate high\-stakes cases with clarity, precision, and empathy. We are a mission\-driven firm seeking thoughtful, sharp, and highly detail\-oriented professionals who want to contribute to meaningful legal outcomes.

Position Overview

We are seeking Legal Researcher \& Trial Report Writers to join our team on a part\-time, 1099 contractor basis. This fully remote role is ideal for someone with exceptional research, writing, communication, and organizational skills, a sharp eye for detail, and a strong interest in law, human behavior, and strategic thinking.

In this role, you will conduct real\-time juror background research during active trials and translate complex, fast\-moving information into clear, organized, and strategically useful written reports. You will also communicate findings to the team throughout the trial day, including providing concise summaries of current findings when asked.

This role plays a direct part in real\-time trial strategy by ensuring the team has accurate, organized, and actionable information at all times. Your work directly informs high\-stakes jury selection decisions. The ability to clearly and quickly communicate evolving findings in real time is essential to success in this role.

This is not a clerical or data\-entry role. It requires judgment, synthesis, discretion, strong organizational ability, and the capacity to move fluidly between researching, analyzing, communicating, and writing under deadline pressure.

Because trial activity and reporting needs are concentrated on Mondays and Fridays, consistent availability during those days is essential. While assignments are project\-based and intermittent, we are seeking someone interested in building a long\-term part\-time working relationship with Tandem Legal Solutions.

Key ResponsibilitiesResearch / Trial Day Support

  • Conduct real\-time research on potential jurors using databases, public records, online platforms, and other assigned resources.
  • Verify identities and cross\-reference information across multiple sources with accuracy and discretion.
  • Identify relevant background details, patterns, inconsistencies, potential biases, and other information that may impact jury selection.
  • Track progress carefully and maintain organized, accurate research records throughout the trial day.
  • Maintain clear internal organization of findings so information can be quickly accessed, summarized, and used by the team.
  • Team Communication \& Real\-Time Insight Sharing

  • Communicate actively with the trial team throughout the day via Slack and other designated platforms.
  • Provide concise, accurate summaries of current findings when requested throughout the day.
  • Surface key insights, red flags, patterns, or questions quickly and clearly to support live strategy decisions.
  • Ask thoughtful questions and clarify priorities when direction shifts or information is incomplete.
  • Stay responsive, engaged, and organized as trial dynamics evolve.
  • Report Writing \& Analysis

  • Review consultant notes, courtroom observations, juror information, and research findings.
  • Synthesize multiple streams of information into cohesive summaries of juror dynamics, voir dire responses, panel trends, and case\-relevant themes.
  • Translate complex and nuanced information into clear, structured, insight\-driven written reports.
  • Identify patterns, inconsistencies, and interpersonal dynamics that may influence trial strategy.
  • Maintain rigorous consistency in formatting, tone, organization, language, and overall quality of work product.
  • General Expectations

  • Manage dense, fast\-changing information with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate exceptional ability to independently track, prioritize, and manage multiple streams of information simultaneously.
  • Work independently while collaborating effectively with consultants, trial managers, and report writers.
  • Meet tight deadlines without sacrificing quality, professionalism, or clarity.
  • Protect client confidentiality and handle sensitive case and juror information with discretion.
  • Schedule \& Expectations

  • Work is project\-based and tied to the trial calendar, so weekly hours are not guaranteed and assignments will vary. Most trial support work occurs on Mondays, with additional opportunities on some Fridays and occasional Saturday mornings. Candidates do not need to be available every Monday or Friday, but should have reasonably regular availability in blocks of at least 4 hours on one or both of those days. Longer shifts may be available for those who want them, including full\-day shifts, evening work, or split shifts across the same trial day.
  • Work may fluctuate throughout those days, and end times may vary based on trial flow.
  • Occasional assignments may arise on other weekdays if trial schedules shift.
  • Project volume varies based on trial schedule, seasonality, and mutual availability.
  • This is a fully remote role; reliable Wi\-Fi and computer access are required.
  • A second monitor is strongly recommended for efficiency, though not required.
  • This role requires responsiveness, follow\-through, strong organization, and the ability to produce high\-quality work on tight timelines. We are happy to train strong candidates who demonstrate exceptional writing, judgment, communication, and organizational ability.
  • Compensation

  • This is a 1099 independent contractor position.
  • Compensation is hourly and based on experience and qualifications.
  • Typical range for most candidates: $17\-$22 per hour.
  • Candidates with advanced degrees, licensed attorney status, or other highly relevant experience may be considered for higher compensation depending on qualifications and fit.
  • Strong performers who demonstrate reliability, communication, and high\-quality work may be considered for increased project volume and expanded responsibilities.

    Ideal Candidate

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong research skills, including the ability to gather, assess, verify, and integrate information efficiently and accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to summarize current findings clearly and concisely in real time.
  • Exceptional organizational ability and capacity to manage multiple streams of information simultaneously.
  • Uncompromising attention to detail in both content and formatting.
  • Strong judgment and ability to identify what is important, relevant, and strategically useful.
  • Clear, responsive communicator who is comfortable asking questions and incorporating feedback.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while maintaining accountability and timeliness.

  • Attuned to subtle interpersonal dynamics, human behavior, and courtroom nuance.
  • Calm, focused, and dependable under deadline pressure.
  • Preferred Background

  • Legal writing or litigation support.
  • Trial consulting or courtroom exposure.
  • Journalism, editorial work, or professional writing.
  • Research and analysis, including qualitative or investigative research.
  • Psychology, sociology, communications, criminal justice, or related fields.
  • Candidates with non\-linear or returning career paths are welcome to apply. Strong skill sets matter more than a traditional path.
  • Who This Role Is Best For

  • Professionals who enjoy both research and writing, and can move fluidly between two different roles, such as legal research and trial report writing.
  • Strong communicators who can translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights.
  • Highly organized, detail\-oriented people with a strong sense of ownership over their work.
  • People interested in law, trial strategy, human behavior, and high\-stakes decision\-making.
  • Candidates who value flexible, project\-based work and are comfortable with a flexible, trial\-driven schedule.
  • People who can reliably protect Monday and/or Friday availability.
  • Professionals who want meaningful, behind\-the\-scenes work that directly contributes to high\-stakes legal outcomes.
  • Who This Role Is Not For

  • Individuals who prefer routine, repetitive, or low\-detail work.
  • People who struggle to write clearly, quickly, and accurately under deadline pressure.
  • Candidates with little or no regular availability on Mondays and/or Fridays.
  • Individuals who prefer purely administrative tasks over analytical work.
  • People seeking guaranteed hours or predictable weekly scheduling.
  • Individuals who are uncomfortable working with nuance, ambiguity, and fast\-changing information.
  • To Apply

    Please email support@tandemlegalsolutions.com with:

  • Your resume.
