TPosition required to be Houston based and hybrid with 2 days/week in office.
What you will do
Our Accounting Clerk is part of a small internal Accounting team for our well\-established mid\-size CPA firm.
- Accounts payable, including daily processing/entry, processing disbursements to vendors, and responding to vendor inquiries.
- Assist with yearly 1099’s.
- Process employee expense reports and credit card expense reports.
- Assist employees with expense report issues/questions.
- Enter daily cash receipts in CCH Axcess and Costpoint.
- Assist business units in collection of outstanding Accounts Receivable.
- Other responsibilities/duties as assigned by Manager/Controller.
- As part of our compliance program, all team members are required to follow industry leading data and system security practices.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting with 1 – 3 years of experience preferred
- In\-lieu of Associate’s Accounting Degree, non\-accounting Associate’s degree plus 3\-5 years of accounting experience preferred; In\-lieu of Associate’s Degree, High School diploma with 5\-7 plus years solid basic accounting experience required.
- Working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint and CCH Axcess preferred.
- Demonstrated communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
- Hybrid and remote (determined by position) work arrangements available.
