  • Lincoln County Community Justice Juvenile Department is looking for an Office Assistant to provide clerical services in support of management. This role ensures the confidential maintenance of offender files, entry of specified data within the Department of Corrections computerized records system and LEDS, and use software systems to obtain confidential information necessary for the supervision of justice involved individuals while working directly with other county offices, state corrections, criminal justice, public and private agencies, ensuring that professional standards are maintained. This person will also collect fees for clients. $23\.44 \- $24\.86 per hour\ Lincoln County follows Oregon Pay Equity laws in reviewing education and experience for wage offer.

  • Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

  • General Office/Customer Service:

  • Perform general office and clerical tasks including answering phones.
  • Perform data entry, word processing, and spreadsheet functions including information into the criminal justice systems.
  • Input data, prepares letters, reports, correspondence, Designs and maintains forms.
  • Provide public with information.
  • Perform basic office administrative tasks to support the department.
  • Daily mail pick\-up, drop\-off, and distribution.
  • Order and distributes office supplies.
  • Serve as receptionist and file clerk for the department.
  • Client Records:

  • Maintain and creates justice involved individual files and organize files, photos, and labels.
  • Set new probation intake appointments.
  • Financial:

  • Assist with receiving payments.
  • Issue receipts for supervision, UAs, and miscellaneous fees.
  • Acts as the office representative for committees:

  • SOON, JJIS Security Coordinator, Stats and office procedures.
  • Update various manuals with current changes.
  • Courier duties to other governmental agencies and treatment providers as needed.
  • Typical Qualifications

  • EDUCATION

    Associates and/or Professional Certification in office occupation or office technology. EXPERIENCE

    Two years of general clerical experience, one year of which includes typing, word processing or other experience generating documents.Substitution Note: College course work in office occupations or office technology will substitute for the required experience on a year\-to\-year basis. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

    CJIS, LEDS, \& JJIS certification.

    Oregon Driver's License required within 30 days of hire. Knowledge of:

  • Word processing, database, and computer entry
  • Court and correction terms
  • Office practices and procedures

\\Normal working hours. Works directly with and/or in proximity to offenders. Requires law enforcement background clearance.\\

Lincoln County offers a comprehensive benefit package including vacation, holiday, and sick leave as well as medical, dental, vision which is paid at 90% by the County and 10% by the employee. Other fully paid benefits include life, AD\&D, long\-term disability insurance. Other optional insurances are available. A 401K retirement plan is also provided. The County's current contribution rate is 11%.

Regular and Trial Service employees working between 20 \- 39 hours per week on a regular basis are eligible for pro\-rated employee benefits.
