    Essential Functions

  • The HIPPY Home Visitor supports families participating in the HIPPY program through consistent home visits, relationship\-building, and guided use of the HIPPY curriculum at The University of Texas Permian Basin. This entry\-level role works closely with families to support school readiness, encourage parent engagement, conduct screenings, and connect participants with community resources. The position combines regular family interaction with accurate documentation and ongoing communication with the HIPPY Coordinator to provide responsive and supportive services that strengthen family engagement and early childhood development outcomes.

    1\. Recruit and maintain a caseload of HIPPY families in alignment with program guidance and assigned service goals.

    2\. Provide services through in\-home visits, teleservice or interactive video conferencing, or a hybrid approach based on family needs and program practices.

    3\. Attend weekly role play sessions, staff meetings, and member development training activities.

    4\. Conduct assessments and screenings, review results with families, and provide referrals to community resources as needed.

    5\. Organize and implement group meetings and special events for participating families.

    6\. Connect families with community resources, follow up on referrals, and maintain progress documentation.

    7\. Participate in Texas HIPPY trainings, events, and service projects.

    8\. Conduct outreach and recruitment activities throughout the year to support program participation.

    9\. Maintain accurate and timely electronic and physical documentation of all services provided.

  • 1\. Two years of experience in early childhood and/or prevention services.

    2\. Prior experience as a HIPPY family or participant.

    3\. Bilingual (English/Spanish).

4\. Employees must be able and willing to travel and perform duties away from campus as necessary and must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.

5\. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.

Schedule

Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 – 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm with a one\-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.

Standard Working Conditions

1\. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.

2\. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.

3\. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.

4\. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.

5\. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job\-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.

6\. Standard working conditions may differ depending on department and occupation
