Assistant Residential DirectorJob Summary:The Assistant Residential Director supports the Operations Director in overseeing day\-to\-day operations of TruCare's community\-based residential programs. This role is primarily focused on residential service delivery, staff performance, compliance, quality assurance, and ensuring person\-centered supports for individuals with developmental disabilities. The Assistant Director ensures residential homes operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with DODD rules, Medicaid standards, and TruCare policies.This position reports directly to the Operations Director and works in close collaboration with CORE Services (HR, QA, Training, Finance) to maintain regulatory compliance, support staff, and strengthen overall service quality.Essential Duties \& ResponsibilitiesResidential Program Operations \& Compliance
- Support the Operations Director in daily oversight of community\-based residential programs, including shared living and respite.
- Conduct regular onsite visits to residential homes to evaluate service quality, safety, documentation, and compliance with DODD and Medicaid standards.
- Assist with preparing for and participating in annual renewals and compliance reviews.
- Monitor adherence to ISP requirements, service documentation, and person\-centered practices.
- Work with the QA team to address citations, corrective actions, and follow\-up audits.
- Directly supervise Senior Program Managers and administrative support staff assigned to residential services.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, coaching, and evaluating residential personnel.
- Ensure staff receive required training, remain current on certifications, and consistently follow agency policies.
- Identify skill gaps and collaborate with Training \& Development to improve staff competence and performance.
- Provide ongoing coaching focused on accountability, expectations, and professional growth.
- Support 24/7 operational coverage for residential programs.
- Respond to urgent situations, staffing shortages, medication errors, incidents, and environmental concerns in collaboration with the Operations Director.
- Monitor individual finances, household budgets, and required documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and recurring issues within residential programming.
- Recommend improvements to enhance service delivery, safety, and staff accountability.
- Assist in developing, updating, and implementing residential policies and procedures.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, recommending follow\-up or corrective action as needed.
- Maintain proactive communication with the Operations Director regarding emerging issues, staffing challenges, or risk\-related concerns.
- Work with county boards, SSAS, guardians, families, and external partners to support individual needs and positive relationships.
- Coordinate with CORE Services on HR matters, training requirements, incident management, and budget considerations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, ISP reviews, and provider\-related discussions as assigned.
- Review weekly and monthly documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
- Support data collection efforts to inform staffing, scheduling, and operational decisions.
- Minimum of 3 years working in the ID/DD field with at least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in residential services.
- Must maintain required certifications, including CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, and all DODD\-mandated trainings.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance required.
- Must pass pre\-employment screening and BCI/FBI background checks.
- Strong understanding of DODD rules and Medicaid Waiver requirements.
- Experience managing residential operations, staffing, and program compliance.
- Excellent crisis response, problem\-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership capability with a focus on accountability, coaching, and team development.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
