Position SummaryPosition Overview: The HomeSchool Coordinator serves as a bridge between families, students, and the school district to promote positive communication, collaboration, and student success. This position helps strengthen partnerships between home and school by supporting family engagement, assisting families in accessing school and community resources, improving communication, and helping remove barriers that may impact student attendance, engagement, behavior, and academic progress.The HomeSchool Coordinator works collaboratively with students, families, teachers, counselors, administrators, and community organizations to foster strong relationships and create a supportive educational environment for all students.Key Responsibilities: Maintain clear, consistent communication with families regarding instructional programs and student progress.Build collaborative partnerships with families and community partners to support student learning and success.Maintain consistent outreach to families even when difficult to reach or who face barriers to engagementCoordinate a variety of family engagement opportunities, including conferences, newsletters, open houses, and individual meetings.Job DutiesFamily and School CommunicationFacilitate positive, respectful, and culturally responsive communication between home and school.Assist families in understanding school procedures, expectations, programs, and available supports.Help school staff communicate effectively with families regarding student progress, attendance, behavior, and school involvement.Support conflict resolution and collaborative problem\-solving between families and school personnel when concerns arise.Assist with interpretation or translation coordination when needed.Family Engagement and SupportEncourage and promote family involvement in school activities, meetings, and events.Build trusting relationships with students and families through regular outreach and communication.Conduct family outreach through phone calls, meetings, home visits (when appropriate), and community engagement.Identify barriers impacting student success and collaborate with families and staff to develop supportive solutions.Connect families with school\-based and community resources related to academics, mental health, food security, housing, healthcare, transportation, and other needs.Student Support and AdvocacySupport student attendance initiatives and intervention efforts including developing attendance plans for students as needed.Collaborate with counselors, teachers, administrators, and support staff to improve student engagement and school connectedness.Assist students and families during transitions between grade levels, programs, or school placements.Advocate for student and family needs while supporting positive school relationships.Participate in student support meetings and problem\-solving teams as appropriate including Act 264 Coordinated Service Plan meetings.Collaboration and CoordinationWork collaboratively with PK12 school staff to strengthen homeschool partnerships.Coordinate communication and outreach efforts for students and families needing additional support.Maintain partnerships with community organizations and agencies that provide services to children and families.Support district initiatives related to family engagement, school climate, attendance, and student wellness.Record\-keeping and DocumentationMaintain documentation of family outreach, meetings, and support services provided.Track communication efforts and referrals to community resources.Maintain confidentiality of student and family information in accordance with district policy and legal requirements.Assist administrators with data collection and reporting related to attendance, family engagement, or student support initiatives.Additional Duties Participate in professional development related to family engagement, student support, and culturally responsive practices.Research and pursue grant opportunities relevant to services for studentsAssist with crisis response and family support during emergencies or significant student concerns.Support school events, informational workshops, and parent education opportunities.Assist administration in establishing and maintaining school based discipline and a positive learning environment.Perform other duties as assigned by the School Principal.Other Professional ResponsibilitiesPrepares and submits accurate, complete, timely, and effective reports as required by law, district policy, and/or administrative regulations.Works effectively, cooperatively, and respectfully with supervisors, colleagues, and other professionals and outside agencies.Actively participates in school events, workshops, in\-service meetings, teacher trainings, building level staff meetings, district meetings, and other school and district committees/projects, making substantial contributions.Seeks out and actively participates in opportunities for professional development to enhance content knowledge and teaching skills, to support district goals and school action/strategic plans, and/or as may be directed by the School Principal.Keeps abreast of current best practices, research findings, and other developments in the field. Actively participates in assisting and supporting other educators and administrators in the school and/or district.Shows professionalism and considers Whats best for students in serving and advocating for students, and in decision making.Follows and assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and procedures, policies and corresponding school district policies.Qualifications/ExperienceTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essentialduty satisfactorily, in addition to the following: Education and Experience.

A high school diploma or GED required. A Bachelors degree in Education, Social Work, Communications, or a related field is preferred. Language Skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common educational procedures and regulations.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from parents, regulatory agencies, or members of the community. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals that conform to school/district standards or regulations. Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from administrators, parents, peers, board members, and the general public.Mathematical/Reasoning Skills. Ability to interpret and use test results by applying math concepts such as standard error of measurement, bands of confidence, standard scores, and percentiles.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Computer Skills and Experience. Good basic computer skills and experience with word processing programs required. Experience with Microsoft and Google preferred.Communication and Interpersonal Skills.

Ability to efficiently, effectively, and regularly communicate and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals, including students, peers, subordinates, supervisors, parents, and representatives of outside organizations.
