Position Overview: We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who is also skilled in operating x\-rays for part time or full time positions. This role requires a dynamic individual capable of managing both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations within our clinic. A bilingual (Spanish/English) candidate is preferred to effectively communicate with a diverse patient population.

Hours of Operations: The Clinic will be open 7 days a week, 8am\-8pm. Weekend shifts will be required, but not necessarily every week based on staffing availability.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Operate x\-rays and communicate with remote radiologists for interpretation.
  • Registration of patients and assist with collection of copayments.
  • Room patients and collect vital signs.
  • Verify patient demographic information, reason for visit, and medical history.
  • Update patient medical record including medical and surgical history, family history, and allergy\-immunotherapy record.
  • Record patient administrative and medical information in medical record including vital signs and chief complaint.
  • Relay instructions to patient as determined by the physician.
  • Process patient orders, including scheduling studies to be performed outside of clinic.
  • Keep rooms stocked with adequate and appropriate supplies.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
  • Assist clinician with office procedures.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergency situations per protocols.
  • Receive patient phone calls and perform basic triage.
  • Check patients out.
  • Document work processes in medical record as required.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred, as well as starting and managing IVs under the medical provider’s direction.
  • Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain a clean work area, exam rooms, supplies, and medications.
  • Keep an inventory of medical and office supplies; notify healthcare providers if supplies are low.
  • Provide administrative support and assist in updating patients’ demographic and insurance information in medical records.
  • File and manage patient data/charts.
  • Work cooperatively with all vendors, office, and clinical staff.
  • Qualifications

  • Must possess a Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited program.
  • X\-ray certification preferred.
  • Bilingual \- English/Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Experience with EMR systems, specifically Tebra (1 year preferred).
  • Experience in taking vital signs (1 year preferred).
  • BLS Certification (preferred).
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Ability to start and manage IVs under the medical provider’s direction.
