Job Summary

The Patient Operations Assistant supports the daily flow and coordination of patient care activities on the Eye Floor at Massachusetts Eye and Ear. This role serves as a central point of communication, ensuring efficient patient throughput, accurate documentation, and seamless collaboration between clinical staff, providers, and support services.

Responsibilities include coordinating patient movement throughout the perioperative or procedural area, maintaining real\-time updates within the electronic health record, preparing and organizing patient care areas, and supporting administrative and operational needs of the unit. The Patient Operations Assistant plays a key role in enhancing patient experience, maintaining a safe and organized environment, and supporting high\-quality, efficient care delivery.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail\-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced clinical setting while maintaining professionalism and strong communication with both patients and care teams. Qualifications

Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience Experience in a healthcare or customer service role 1\-2 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities \- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse patient populations. \- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. \- Proficiency in using computer systems, electronic medical records, and common office software. \- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work efficiently in a fast\-paced environment. \- Understanding of medical terminology and healthcare operations. \- Compassionate, patient\-focused approach and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
