The Technical Logistics area supports the academic mission of the University and provides logistical support for events including Commencement, Accepted Students Day and Open Houses. These services include transportation; event set up and break down and technical support for events.

Position Profile
This Administrative Faculty trainee will support the Technical Logistics Event Management area in a number of capacities including scheduling and support of student workers and University Assistants, technical support of events including lighting, sound and stage direction and communication with clients.
Supervision Received
Works under the immediate supervision of an employee of higher grade to whom on\-the\-job training, lead, or supervisory duties have been delegated.
Supervision Exercised
Incumbents of this class are not assigned lead or supervisory duties. Incumbents may provide basic direction or support to Student Workers, Graduate Assistants, Graduate Interns, and/or Cooperative Educational Interns.
Position Responsibilities
Participates in a formal development program designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to qualify for appointment and advancement to a designated Administrative Faculty target class.
Performs and/or learns a variety of increasingly difficult duties as skills are acquired during the course of the training period of the designated function.
Attends and participates in a variety of learning opportunities such as trainings, conferences, committees, and meetings.
Performs a variety of administrative functions to ensure operational goals and objectives are met as well as compliance with supervisory expectations, University and BOR/CSCU policies and procedures and State and Federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
May provide basic direction to Student Workers, Graduate Assistants, Graduate Interns, and/or Cooperative Educational Interns.
May collect, analyze and maintain data, databases and other record keeping; prepare and present reports.
May lead special projects.
Performs other duties and responsibilities related to those above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities attributed to a formal educational program of study; Knowledge of and ability to apply principles and practices of target classification; Demonstrated technical skills of target classification; Knowledge of and ability to apply Federal and State laws and regulations as well as University and BOR/CSCU policies and procedures; Knowledge of and ability to apply best practices of target classification; Considerable ability to use appropriate equipment, computerized systems, platforms and software; Considerable interpersonal and presentation skills; Considerable oral and written communication skills; Considerable ability to collect, analyze and prepare data; Considerable ability to prepare reports and other materials.
Working Environment
Incumbents typically perform their work indoors, on campus, and in\-person; may be required to work evenings and weekends; may be required to work outdoors; may be required to lift equipment, educational, training or other materials; may be exposed to some risk of injury from equipment and/or in the engagement in technical services.

All applicants must possess Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in related area.
Certifications and successful completion of training programs may be required prior to or during appointment.
Preference will be given to applicants with the following:

Events management experience including lighting, sound and stage direction.
Knowledge and/or experience with Sub it up or other workforce management software
Experience with transportation coordination
Knowledge and/or experience with Accruent Event Management (EMS) or other scheduling software
Technical experience with lighting, control, and staging systems.

Compensation and Employee Benefits
The Administrative Faculty Trainee is compensated at the Administrator I salary level in accordance with the State University Organization of Administrative Faculty (SUOAF) Collective Bargaining Union Agreement.
