Billing Administrative Assistant

Part\-Time, 20 hours/week, Remote – occasional meetings in person

Job Description:

Reports to: Financial Analyst

Heritage Clinic is a nonprofit community mental health agency serving primarily Older Adults who are experiencing mental health concerns and provides services across the county of Los Angeles. Heritage Clinic has been providing these services for over 40 years.

The Billing Administrative Assistant will provide timely data entry, billing, and administrative support. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following capacities, abilities, and characteristics:

  • Self\-motivated
  • Experience with the following required: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Experience with Billing and Insurances preferred (eligibility checks, completing PFIs, utilizing insurance portals, troubleshooting denials, resubmitting claims)
  • Experience with the following preferred: Los Angeles County’s FSP OMA portal, Exym (electronic health record system)
  • People skills, including being part of a positive team environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Present a professional appearance
  • Flexible
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Duties include:

  • Entering Outcome data into the Full Service Partnership (FSP) Outcome Portal including baselines, KECs (Key Event Changes), and quarterly assessments.
  • Being available to complete Payor Financial Information (PFI) forms for new clients virtually when called by a clinician in the field ready to complete an intake.
  • Entering Post Intake data into Exym (EHR).
  • Entering data into the DMH NAPPA portal.
  • Troubleshooting, researching, correcting, and resubmitting denied claims.
  • Verifying insurance eligibility.
  • Monitoring billing payments are received.
  • Additional administrative and/or billing tasks as assigned.
  • Qualifications:

    Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or significant experience in data entry and billing. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. The following are essential to employment in this position:

    Must pass:

    1\-Livescan Background check

    2\-TB Test

    3\-Drug Test

    4\-Phylical Test

    Pay: $21\.00 \- $23\.00 per hour
